This week was quite both interesting and challenging for me at the same time. I was looking forward to my new environment as it differs greatly from the regular hospital.
I had my orientation with my mentor who took me round the facility and also acquainted me with the services they render. In my training unit, there is the out patient clinic where mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar cases, post-traumatic stress disorder are being managed on an out-patient basis, also, clients who have been discharged from the hospital come for regular check up. There is also the in- patient clinic where patients with acute episode of manic schizophrenia, eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia are being managed under close supervision. Another unit in my training unit is the detoxification centre where people are being managed for drug detoxification out of their body system.
