{"id":305,"date":"2023-09-21T09:29:12","date_gmt":"2023-09-21T06:29:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogi.savonia.fi\/damilolaehizojie\/?page_id=305"},"modified":"2023-09-21T11:28:46","modified_gmt":"2023-09-21T08:28:46","slug":"week-1","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogi.savonia.fi\/damilolaehizojie\/internship\/gerontology-and-home-care-service-internship\/learning-reflection\/week-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This week, with the guidance and cooperation with my mentor nurse, I have been able to transition successfully from a basic caregiver in which capacity I work as prior to this internship to a more defined, demanding role required of nurses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was involved in the admission of a resident who has been at a waiting center at Silinjarvi into the care home facility. On admission, there were a lot of information about the resident that needed to be put into consideration such as the underlying medical conditions, medications, daily routine and so on. These information were clearly communicated with other members of the care team to ensure continuity of care. I did the initial assessment using the MMSE in which she had a score of 9 which indicated severe cognitive impairment.
