KELA
I have had a lot of contact with KELA in recent years, as I have two children under three years old and I am currently still on childcare leave with my youngest child. My eldest is also at home with us and I receive home care support for both children. Before my current childcare leave, I received parental allowance from Kela during my parental leave. Also, when I was studying to be a nurse, I have dealt with KELA when I applied for study support. I have no experience with KELA in other dealings. I have always been satisfied with KELA’s operations, and I have never had any problems with them, as I have heard many others have. I already have a European Health Insurance Card.
OMAKANTA
I logged in to OmaKanta with my own online banking credentials. I think OmaKanta is a clear and easy-to-use service that has always worked well for me. I think it’s relatively easy to find the information I’m looking for on OmaKanta, and it’s convenient that you can also use it to send prescriptions for renewal.
KEVA
I logged into Keva also with my banking credentials, and it showed that I could retire at the earliest at 68 years old, and then I would receive a pension of 964.75 euros. It sounds harsh that the retirement age is that high. Keva also offers another option below: if I retired at 70 years old, I would receive a pension of 1090.9 euros per month.
My experiences about Booking.com etc
I’m not familiar with eBay or Amazon, but I’ve almost always used Booking.com to book hotels. When I’ve been looking for the cheapest flights, I’ve browsed them on Momondo and it has shown the cheapest prices from different service providers. Suddenly, when I looked at Booking.com and Trivago, the hotel prices are in the same range. Booking.com has always been reliable and I’ve never had any problems using it. Once I booked a hotel through Hotels.com and then the reservation mysteriously disappeared and I never got my money back. In any case, I’ve mostly had successful experiences with these services. In addition to these, I use a lot of different online stores like Zalando, Boozt, etc. and they have always worked well and I have nothing bad to say about them. Now that I think about things more closely when doing these tasks, I do use a lot of different online stores and services in my daily life.
PIKKUJÄTTI
My children have been sick quite a lot, so that’s why I chose this Pikkujätti app and my experience with it. I have used the Pikkujätti mobile application a lot when my children are sick. From there, I can book an appointment with a doctor or a laboratory. The application also shows the results of laboratory tests taken clearly in either green or red, which indicates whether the results are within the reference values. I can also see the treatment reports and prescriptions from doctor visits in the application. The application also has a chat option with the doctor and nurse, which is a quick and easy way to deal with the problem if the condition does not require a physical visit to the doctor. I have found the application to be effective and I will use it in the future to take care of my children’s matters.
DIGITALIZATION AND DIGITAL GAP
Digital services and technological developments are modern, but I often wonder about people who are left out of services. Not everyone can use digital services, for example if they do not have a computer, smartphone or tablet or don’t even have their own online banking credentials. In my work, I have encountered many elderly patients for whom using digital services is difficult and for some impossible due to a lack of knowledge or the necessary tools. As the world becomes more and more digital, I fear that many will experience digital exclusion, and it is not an easy problem to solve. I look forward to seeing how problems related to digital exclusion and its prevention will be solved in the future.
THE DIGITAL COMPETENCE WHEEL

SELF EVALUATION
It was interesting to reflect on and explore the issues in this topic area. The digital competence wheel was very interesting and eye-opening. The questions included a lot of familiar things, but also a lot of things that are not my strongest areas of expertise. For example, there is certainly a lot to improve in security-related matters and more attention should be paid to security when using the internet, especially nowadays when online scams have increased so much. The tasks in this section helped me to reflect on my digital competence in more detail, which was really interesting, because I use digital services in my everyday life every day. One thing that worries me a lot is digital exclusion and how to prevent it. Hopefully, in the future, ways will be found to make digital services accessible to everyone.
