I work as a service manager in private health care. Our unit is focused on telemedicine and all my team members work remotely. We use many digital systems in our daily work, for example Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, Excel etc) and Whatsapp. Our doctors and nurses also use Mediatri, Lifecare, Acute and Omni to document all the patient records. We also have a phone system, which is browser-based platform, Cuuma. Different kinds of digital tools are very useful and nowadays many diseases can be examined and diagnosed by using some telemedicine devices. My organization uses social media, for example Facebook and Instagram, actively to advertise it’s services.

Evernote

It could be useful to keep notes and schedules synchronized in all my devices. There can be made some notes and reminders and there’s a calendar also there, as well. You can easily find any information by using search and save some important pictures or files in it. By synchronizing my personal and work calendars, it would be easy to remember both work meetings and personal plans. This sounds interesting and easy to use! I think the only negative thing could be that I consider Microsoft Outlook almost the same; there is a calendar and many other tools to keep my notes in order.

Issuu

I had never got to know this platform before and it was interesting to learn how it works. It’s a platform, where you can make digital publications, articles or digital posts. You can load some pictures and videos there to enrich and personalize them. In my job there could be made some instructions or a newsletter by using this platform. On the other hand we already have our current (functional) platforms which are easy to use. I really don’t know, what kind of negative sides this platform could have, because it seems very useful.

Monday

Oh this seems like an interesting platform with many different kinds of features! There are dashboards to visualize some data, integrations with tools you need in everyday work and forms to make some requests to name but a few. I could easily imagine to use this kind of miscellaneous platform to ease my job. I wonder how expensive it would be to use every feature of it, because it seems so multi-functional. That is the only negative thing I come up with.

Mural

Mural is a platform, where you can work with your team by using a virtual white board. It’s a refreshing and functional way of working with your team members despite you work remotely. By using Mural you can enliven your meetings, because everyone can take part. I haven’t used it before so I can’t say if it is easy to use, but I have seen sometimes a same kind of a platform, which wasn’t so user-friendly. That could be only negative thing that comes in to my mind.

Vimeo

Vimeo is a platform, where you can made videos on-line. It can be used by any registered user. In my job it would be a useful tool to make some instruction videos by using it, but on the other hand we already have Dream broker, which is also a very good tool. There are a few different prices which seem quite expensive in my opinion. It’s very popular platform though, so I believe it’s a good one.

The elements of successful use of digital application

I think that one of the most important elements is that the digital application is easy to use. If it doesn’t work properly, the user gets irritated and doesn’t want to try anymore. It also has to have very good information security so it’s safe to use. The price is also important, because if it’s very expensive, people don’t want to use it. I think that it also should have some other elements, that the other applications or platforms don’t have. That is what would make it very useful and necessary. When developing digital applications or platforms, there always should listen the users and collect user experience.

Self evaluation

This part was very interesting, because I learned many new digital platforms that could be utilized in my job. There are so many different kind of platforms there and I think I should be more active to explore them. It is very refreshing to use new platforms for example in virtual workshops. It is important to courage team members and also the supervisors to use new digital tools. You can’t know if it works or not unless you try it! I find myself pretty open-minded for all new digital applications and platforms.
