I will continue using it in my future Internships . I also tried to use all my personal characteristics which are rationality, responsibility, versatility, sociability, and empathy. It turns out during shifts you need to be not just on the alert, you have to follow everything 360 degrees .

Ethical knowledge and professionality

Level of competency: Therefore, I may clearly recognize the principles of dialogic interaction . Besides , I am eager to learn to act and behave correctly accordingly nursing .

Goals and objectives: Under such circumstances , I hope that I will learn to reason and think more critically , as well as develop my cognitive functions such as quick analysis and memory .

Self-Evaluation: Throughout the whole practice, I followed absolutely all the rules of conduct for a nurse such as respect of patient privacy , for example . I always observed patients’ confidentiality , never discussed or divulged patients’ records. In terms of the importance of the nursing value and fundamental nursing concepts I tend to agree and mean that it is rather significant and those ideas ought to be known by medical staff

Clinical Skills

Level of competency: trained and I know how to apply into practice the help with functional ability of a patient by using different scales and processes such as physical activity , memory, coping with everyday activities and nutritional condition ). Also I completely acknowledge that if I do not comprehend some peace of information I have to straight forward ask my sypervisor to clearify the situation as I have to mentor the client/patient accordingly to the principles guiding the maintenance & promote the finctional ability & rehabilitation . Of course ,I always remeber about the aseptics is it the major basic knowledge and habit which must be absorbed by the cerebral cortex . It is 100 percent crucial to always have clean/washed and antisaptic hands . So I realize how important it is to work in environment which is aseptically clean . Just recently I had a lecture about working ergonimically correctly as it improves medical professionals’ effort.

Goals and objectivies: It would be really great to improve my ergonomical skills during this internship because it is an absolutely new thing for me

Self-Evaluation: Throughout the practice, I monitored the asepsis of my hands, carried out all procedures with gloves, after which I washed my hands with soap and applied an antiseptic. Also, to be comfortable for both the patient and me, I used all the ergonomically advantageous postures while working.

Teaching and guidance

Level of competency: Moreover, I am eager to study how to carry out rehabilitative nusring care. I suppose that I might need a slight help in guiding the client’s / patient’s relatives if necessary because sometimes it happens so I cannot find the right words to explain the situation/case.

Goals and objectives: In my opinion, during this and futher going interships I have to develop a very essential skill which is proper self evaluation and better ability to communicate with the patient and his or her relatives in their native language (Finnish)

Self-Evaluation: I had a little trouble understanding what the patients were saying, what they wanted, and so on. But over time, I already learned their habits, and could use some of the memorized phrases and words, as well as communicate with them non-verbally.

Patient safety. Quality of Social and Health Care services

Level of competency: No matter what , I always tent to take into account the factors affecting the physical , mental and social security of the client /patient . Also fact affecting medication safety , for instance, Haipro-system

Goals and objectives: I really want to hone my skills in both taking and explaining the ABCDE method and ISBAR method.

Working community competence

Level of competency:It goes without saying that every medical staff member have to know how to communicate and work in the community as a whole . It requires from the professionals to be active, open and have communicative lifestyle which is not a problem for me as I am a considerate, open-minded, and agile person.

Goals and objectives: Communicate with as many people as possible , make new acquauntances and connections . Be cheerful and friendly in general.

Self-Evaluation: As an open and friendly person, I tried to stay with them for these five weeks. Despite the fact that the entire medical staff is much older than me, I still tried to somehow establish contact. I tend to suppose that I did it.

Description

I saw and understood a lot during this internship. This is naturally an invaluable experience. I worked in the morning shift, evening and even at night. I know what I need to pay attention to in varying degrees. I was able to try to carry out procedures not on a manikin at the university but on living people! It is very interesting to work with different people, therefore you need to find your own unique approach to everyone.

I also want to mention that the emotions of people who are happy about something simply cannot be expressed in words, it must be felt.

Feelings

All the excitement and experiences remained at the very beginning of the internship , as now I stand firmly on my feet and know what and when to do. Naturally, I am still learning how to manage my emotions and experiences, but I believe that I have made a big step forward!

Evaluation

I described a detailed assessment of my knowledge and skills above, but here I can emphasize that I myself realized that now I can and can, and what else I need to learn and that’s great!

Analysis

The main point of this point is control, understanding, analysis of the situation and willingness to help at any moment.

Conclusion

I am glad for the opportunity to get to know my future profession better, now I am sure that despite all the difficulties, I was tired and sometimes even fatigued – I am glad that I chose this profession, because I believe that helping people is important! And not everyone can do it disinterestedly and conscientiously.

Action Plan

Now that I have an understanding of what real Basic Nursing it is about , I can definitely go further and develop my knowledge and skills in medicine, because thanks to this internship , I learned the very concept of nursing & now I know where it all begins .

With worm of my hert I am deeply graceful to my Tutor Nurses Saara, Niina, Riita and Tarja for hight professional supervising, teaching guidance me and provide me very-very useful wise advises.

Mentor teacher Sari for controlling my first Internship .
