The staffs and the children made the paediatric internship place a conducive environment for me. It has been a good feeling in the internship place as I was able to put the theoretical knowledge into practical. I am delighted that I managed to fulfil the goals and objectives planned at the beginning of the training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SUMMARY OF PAEDIATRIC LEARNING GOALS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ETHICAL COMPETENCE AND PROFESSIONAL<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Working in kindergarten (paivakoti) settings where they have a significant impact on children&#8217;s development and well-being, requires maintaining ethical competence and professionalism. This entails putting ethical principles and guidelines relevant to childcare education into practice such as keeping all the children and family privacy private.&nbsp;As a nurse, it is my responsibility always putting children\u2019s safety and wellbeing first by putting safety procedures into place, keeping a careful eye on kids, and quickly handling any issues or threats. When I pay attention to children, respect their viewpoints, and show them compassion and understanding, they feel valued and appreciated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EVIDENCE-BASED NURSING AND DECISION MAKING<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Evidence-based nursing practices and decision-making entail using research-supported techniques to improve the health and well-being of young children. Educators and caregivers use evidence-based standards and best practices to inform their decisions about health promotion, disease prevention, and safety precautions. This method guarantees that therapies and activities are matched to each child&#8217;s developmental needs and unique qualities. The kindergarten (paivakoti) encourages the children to play games with puzzles and engage in other activities that have been shown via scientific research to aid in brain development. Educators can provide a caring and supportive environment that promotes optimal growth and development by incorporating evidence-based nursing into paivakoti care. Putting into practice evidence-based methods for emotional control, physical activity, diet, and hygiene is part of this. Teachers also work in conjunction with families and medical professionals to guarantee that care is provided continuously and to swiftly treat any health issues or developmental problems. All things considered, evidence-based nursing methods improve the standard of care in kindergarten (paivakoti)&nbsp;settings, supporting young children&#8217;s health and wellbeing as they begin their educational journey. Playing games that assist in counting numbers and reciting alphabets is one example of this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PATIENT-ORIENTED NURSING CARE<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Providing paivakoti care for a child entail customizing therapies to fit each child&#8217;s particular requirements and traits. This entails carrying out in-depth evaluations to find any health issues, developmental disabilities, or unique factors. Following the evaluation, the family is notified, and a meeting is scheduled to establish who will have the last say over the child&#8217;s decisions. The nurses create individualized care plans that consider the child&#8217;s physical, emotional, and developmental needs in partnership with educators, families, and healthcare professionals. This could entail putting policies in place to assist social and emotional growth, manage chronic diseases, stimulate physical activity, and encourage good eating choices. a continuous assessment and monitoring of the child&#8217;s development, with care plans modified as necessary to guarantee the best results. Through specialized care, the team helps paivakoti become a secure, encouraging, and welcoming place where all children can flourish and realize their full potential. Every child is unique; some have dietary requirements that must be met, while others require additional special attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LEARNING SKILLS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am fast learner who is open to correction when I make mistakes. The kindergarten was a good learning environment for me. I learnt excellently from my mentor and the kids in the Paivakoti. It took me few weeks before I understood the student daily activities for the children group, I was. During my first week, I made mistake by comparing the children mood to an adult. With the help of my mentor, I study how to respect children privacy more compared to an adult. After listening to my mentor corrections, I had a good relationship among the children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WORKING SOCIETY COMPETENCE<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To support children&#8217;s holistic development and well-being, educators, families, and other pertinent stakeholders have formed a dynamic collaboration. It places a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary teamwork, in which teachers work together to develop and implement curricula that cater to the many needs of kids. To effectively include families in their children&#8217;s education and care, educators actively involve families in the classroom through participation in activities, collaborative decision-making, and regular communication. This is known as family engagement. The paivakoti experience for kids and families is improved by extra resources and support services offered through other pertinent stakeholder relationships. I had a case study of child during my internship in Paivakoti, the parents noticed that the kids do not walk properly at home when walking on the stairs. The parents informed the teachers at the kindergarten of this situation, fortunately the child works properly at school because there were no stairs in the paivakoti. The teachers and the parents collaborated by contacting physiotherapist to find a permanent solution to the child stairs phobia. Educators, families, and community partners such as police and social workers work together to build inclusive and supportive settings in which children may thrive and attain their full potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CLINICAL NURSING:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The paivakoti setting restricts the nursing activities that can be carried out. As a nurse, basic first care is applied as the first line of management for any incident that occurs there. The paivakoti is equipped with an ice pack, a first aid box, and other supplies. I gave pastille for kids every day after meals to support the proper growth of the teeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In conclusion, I&#8217;m pleased to report that I&#8217;ve accomplished each of the four learning goals and objectives I set for myself at the beginning of the internship. Working with my mentor, co-workers, and all the children feels like an honour and a fulfilling experience. The internship location is a good place of learning.
