After the mid evaluation, I decided to enhance my nursing skill and focus more on the patient\u2019s medication. I conducted RAI tests on my given patients to see how it is done in a real-life situation. At the fourth week, applying my rehabilitative nursing skills and competence when working as a patient\u2019s responsible nurse and working in accordance with ethical guidelines. I decided to review three different resident medication lists, medication benefits and side effects, interactions. Below is the medication list gathered from residents and the attributes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RESIDENT ABDE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Atorvastatin<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use: Lowers cholesterol and reduces the risk of heart disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Side Effects: Muscle pain, liver enzyme elevation, digestive issues, headache.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interactions: May interact with grapefruit juice, some antibiotics, and antifungal medications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Bisoprolol<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use: A beta-blocker used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Side Effects: Fatigue, dizziness, slow heart rate, cold extremities, depression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interactions: Can interact with other blood pressure medications, insulin, and NSAIDs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Divisun <em>(likely Vitamin D supplement)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use: Treats or prevents vitamin D deficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Side Effects: High calcium levels (hypercalcemia), nausea, kidney issues in excessive doses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interactions: Can interact with certain diuretics and calcium supplements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Donepezil<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use: Used for Alzheimer&#8217;s disease to improve memory and cognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Side Effects: Nausea, diarrhea, insomnia, muscle cramps, dizziness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interactions: May interact with anticholinergic drugs, beta-blockers, and NSAIDs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Melatonin<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use: A natural sleep aid for insomnia and circadian rhythm disorders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Side Effects: Drowsiness, dizziness, headaches, nausea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interactions: May interact with sedatives, blood thinners, and blood pressure medications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. Mirtazapine<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use: An antidepressant used for depression and sometimes sleep disorders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Side Effects: Drowsiness, weight gain, dry mouth, dizziness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interactions: Can interact with MAO inhibitors, alcohol, and sedatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. Pegorion <em>(likely a laxative containing macrogol\/polyethylene glycol)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use: Treats constipation by increasing water content in the stool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Side Effects: Bloating, diarrhea, nausea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interactions: Minimal, but excessive use may affect electrolyte balance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8.
