My experiences

The digitalization has developed a lot during my lifetime. When I was a kid it wasn´t common for everyone to have their own mobilephone. Nowadays everyone has a smartphone at very young age. I got my first phone when I was eight years old. It was the legendary Nokia 3310, no color display or internet. The worm game was the best thing ever.

As a teenager, we started chatting more via the computer but still the applications were very elementary ones if compared to today. In high school we learned more about searching for information on the internet. Still the final exams had to write by hand. Now all happens on the computer. Of course, because in workplaces everything is digital.

During my career development has not been so fast anymore. However, there has been a different need for the use of digital devices in different work tasks. Now at store manager I have had to learn to use more digital services. I believe that technology will develop a lot during my lifetime. I can hardly even imagine how.

GDPR

GDPR (The General Data Protection Regulation) is privacy and security law in the world. The law contains exact requirements for processing personal data. This affects my job every day. In my opinion, it´s good that we are precise in this matter. We follow the instructions completely. However, there is always a risk that the information will fall in the wrong hands. There will be more and more hackers all the time and their skills will develope. What scares me is how much harm can be done if personal data is accessed. Many things are also more difficult and slower to handle because of the law.

Chat GPT

I haven´t use Chat GPT (AI) before my master´s degrees. In some cases it can be very useful, but you have to remember source criticality. Chat GBT don´t tell sources. I asked some questions about contact lenses and laser operations. Answers was correct but It was good to know that AI always guided me to talk to an optometrist or ophthalmologist. In matters related to health, you should always consult a professional. Not just believe in AI.

Thoughts

This assignment made me to think more about digitalization. A good reminder for example email security. Above all, I learned how to create a blog site and how to use AI. I believe that in the future I will be able to use both in my working life.
