Digitization in my field has been visible for years. First, patient information was written by hand. Then we start documenting digitally on computer. Today, in the nursing field, you don’t need a pen and paper to maintain patient data. Nowadays, the information also works in real time.

I believe that in the future there will be more and more use of technology, for example in terms of recording. Various voice controls, as well as the recording of spoken information, will certainly increase and at the same time speed up operations. Doctors have been dictating their texts for a long time, I believe that other professionals are starting to do that too.

With digitalization, every employee must master information technology skills and constantly study them more. The change of different systems also constantly affects the work. Regardless of age, education and experience, employees must be ready to continuously develop themselves.

Digitization also involves risks. For example, data security breaches and information falling into the wrong hands are a common threat, when a lot of information is processed digitally.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is an information security and safety law. It guides organizations in the European Union in the processing of people’s data. The GDPR governs the processing of personal data, data processing, registration, and the activities of the data controller and data processor. (GDPR.EU. n.d.)

The data protection reform can be seen in my own work every day. I have to make sure that all employees are familiar with the data protection guidelines and have undergone training. Data processing must also be done every day with data protection guidelines. Every task related to data processing, must be considered separately so that the operation is carried out in accordance with the laws. In my opinion, considering data protection is a very important issue. On the other hand, it also slows down some processes, but also creates security.

I asked the AI in Chat GPT the following questions:

How is the social and health sector developing? According to AI answer, development targets include digitization and technology, personal healthcare, integrated service model, prevention, population aging and multiplication, workforce challenges, and ecological and social sustainability. I think these answers are exactly what the industry has been talking about for years and development has already been made partly.

How does digitalization appear in the social and health sector? According to the answer, digitization will appear as remote services and virtual care, utilization of artificial intelligence, patient information systems, digitization of home care, self-service solutions, consideration of information security and data protection, management with information, robotization, mobile applications and health applications. In my opinion, these answers are also similar to what has been developed in practice for a long time.

I think that with the help of artificial intelligence (AI), you can get the right answers, especially on topics which a lot of information is available. The answers are sometimes difficult to understand and they may not answer the question completely. However, you can get good tips from AI to support other information.

This task was intresting. Familiarization with the topic progressed logically through my own work. Reviewing the data protection reform was necessary for me. Reviewing the contents of the various data protection reforms was also a good thing. It would be good to go through information related to information security every year and update your own knowledge in this regard.
