DIGI CITIZEN
When familiarizing myself with the services of the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (KELA), I remembered that I have not had to use the services of the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (KELA) for several years. When I was a student, I received study support and with children I have received, for example, maternity allowance, parental allowance and home care allowance. We have also received child benefit. So the first thing I thought was that I have not needed the services of the Social Insurance Institution of Finland, but I have used the KELA card when applying for medicines, so I have used those services regularly in that form. For years, I have already had a European healthcare card, which I have carried with me when traveling.
I have visited OmaKanta several times and now I also log in to the service through my bank’s identification service. OmaKanta has become familiar when visiting to look at one’s own health information and prescription requests.
I have not checked my retirement age before, because it seems that the retirement age is increasing all the time. My minimum retirement age is 66 years 2 months and my target retirement age is 66 years 10 months. There are still many years of work ahead. At the age of 63, I can apply for a partial early retirement pension (50%), in which case I would receive €805.67/month and this means that if I retire at the age of 66 years and 2 months, I will then receive a pension of €1943.44/month. If I retire at the age of 68, I would receive a pension of €2392.58/month.

I visited Booking.com and Trivago. I have used these before, for example when looking for a hotel. I have found Booking.com to be reliable and I have often booked accommodation through it. I have mainly used Trivago’s pages to compare prices. The website should be very specific that even if the price of the other accommodation is cheaper, it may involve additional fees for additional services that are not perceived as an additional service by the hotel itself, such as breakfast.
I visited wellbeing services county of North Karelia- Siun sote own digital services, where you can log in either anonymously or with identification. In the services, you can chat with a professional in real time. I have previously become familiar with digital services through my own work and have also been involved in development work. In digital services, you can get help and advice from a physiotherapist for musculoskeletal symptoms. You have to log in to the physiotherapy services, but I went to see which services do not require identification. Being anonymous, I can get guidance and advice if I don’t know which services I should contact.
In my opinion, one of the digital challenges in the future is how to secure the secure use of digital services. How do we also secure services for those who do not want or know how to use digital services? If needed, can they get the same services nearby or do they have to travel longer distances to get services?

Digital competence test
Below you can see the result of my digital proficiency test. Doesn’t look very strong.
Self-assessment
When doing this section, I think about my own digital behavior and how much I already use these services. Some of the services are ones that I also guide others to use, because the availability of services can be faster through digital services. Doing the digital test was partly exciting. It also revealed the different areas of digitalization. I personally feel that I am not yet very strong in digital, even though the basic functions through digital services are successful.
