I currently work in therapy services as a supervisor. In my work, I use a lot of different digital tools and use them on a daily basis. Of the various digital tools, I use the services of MS Office the most. I use MS Teams a lot on a daily basis, and through this, a conversation takes place with both employees and colleagues or different groups. In Teams, messaging is fast. Most of the meetings at work are also held via Teams. Holding meetings through Teams increased during the Corona pandemic. A lot is also stored in the Teams files, e.g. meeting notes and work instructions. In my work, I also use a lot of other MS Office services such as e-mail and calendar, Excel and OneDrive.

The tools I use in my work are e.g. the Essi system related to personnel management and service requests and orders for IT services take place through the Meita program. The travel management program is CGI-Populus, where business travel expenses are reported and approved. Working hours are tracked in Visma OmaNumeron, and stamps are checked/approved in Visma Numeron. I monitor matters related to finances through the Qlik program. Invoices are processed and approved in the CGI DataCycle360 program, while orders and their approval take place in the OneClinic Logistics software. Valid contracts can be checked in the Cloudia program. Risk assessment as well as hazard reports and their processing takes place through the Quality Gate system. Notifications related to facilities are made using the Facility Service Portal – Granlund Manager Asset Page program. The telephone service of the therapy services and the monitoring of the telephone service as well as the running of reports are done through OC Administrator.

What social media tools could I use in my work?

I could try the ChatGPT tool at work. This has become familiar to myself only through these studies. This could sometimes make it easier to search for information, but on the other hand, when using this, you have to remember that you have to be critical of the answers yourself.

YouTube could be used especially for various expert/educational videos and to advise employees to make use of these already existing videos. With the help of these, it would also be possible to develop one’s own professional skills, and on the other hand, I believe that the younger employees have already learned to use this through their studies. However, this could be used more by those who have been working longer.

Mobile certificates are already widely used in various healthcare services, and as digitalization increases, the use of mobile certificates will also increase.

When I got to know the Doodle tool, I got the idea that this could be a good tool for our work as well. Apparently, it is possible to synchronize the tool with Teams as well. Of course, the challenge of this implementation is that the organization can only use programs that are jointly approved by the organization.

I chose the Mural program as the last tool. When getting to know this, it came out that this is a virtual workspace where you can collaborate remotely. At the moment, several projects are done in cooperation between several employees and in such a way that the employees are geographically far from each other, so this could be used in these situations. It occurred to me that currently the units have their own whiteboards on the walls, but could this platform be used to communicate common issues so that everyone could modify it as needed. Even with this tool, however, the challenge is whether this is considered sufficiently secure.

Self-assessment

While doing this task, it was nice to get to know the tools that other students are already using. When learning about digital tools, I was surprised to see how much I already use different digital tools in my own work and how many different programs I have already had to study during my working career. Many of the services mentioned in the assignment were ones I had never heard of before. Familiarizing myself with these increased my knowledge of various services, but on a certain level also increased the “pain” of how many there are and how many different programs I will still have to learn during my working career. It was also nice to notice that others were also thinking about the same things about certain services as myself.
