Learning Competence: Clinical practice has progressed well, communication and cooperation with mentor nurse has been great.
How I attained my goal: I can say at this moment, that i have been able to attain my various goals with the help of my mentor and other staff members in the ward by working closely with them and working at my own pace and asking questions that come to mind.
Ethical Knowledge and Professionalism: Ethically and professional competence knowledge is getting better, as i follow what has been taught at the university and how my mentor nurse also handles several situations. i also taken into proper consideration the rights of every patients, irrespective of their health status and urgency for care, utilizing principles of nursing care and status and rights of a patient.
Working society competence: I have gotten to understand the various people that make up the unit and cooperated with staff members closely, which has lead to extra knowledge gained from nurses with different areas of specialty.
Evidence based nursing and decision-making : As a student nurse i have been able to follow through this internship with research on several topics and also with the aid of my mentor nurse, she has been able to direct and ensure that actions taken are done through evidence based nursing.
Clinical Competence: My progress in clinical competence has also improved, as i can identify different instruments used in several operations and hand them over to the surgeons, i have also improved on my scrub wear and hand disinfection
Assisting in the daily routine checklist, getting instruments to be used from their various rooms and also how to support the instrument nurse as well.
I have also assisted under supervision of my mentor nurse to be a scrub nurse and also work hand in hand with various professionals.
My relationship with other colleagues is quite cordial, as they are willing to help me grow as much as i want and they assist me when i ask for help.
