WHO AM I<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My name is Kingsley from Nigeria and am enthusiastic about travelling, caring for people, and putting smiles on the faces of people in the field of health care by always supporting and caring for them the right way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have heard couple of Nursing internship at ,attendo Vanriki during my first internship, the university of Nicosia as a Nursing student before I moved to Finland to get a Masters degree in Toxicology and Environmental health risk Assessment. So the working life and daily practice of a student Nurse is not new to me but I believe every place comes with a new experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHAT KIND OF A LEARNER AM I<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I see myself to be an active learner and also, I really like to learn by practicing. Am quick to ask questions when am either confused about a task or an application I do not understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LEARNING SKILLS.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am eager to gather more skills from the clinical practice by applying what I have studied in school and with the experience I have gathered in the years, also by listening, watching, and taking corrections from my mentor at practice all the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hope to achieve this goals by applying all evidence-based practice through my period of internship with the help of my mentor nurse and other nurses at the workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ETHICAL KNOWLEDGE AND PROFESSIONALITY<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Level of competence: I acquainted myself  with the values and principles of nursing care\/profession. I am easily accessible to new people and my strength is being social in new situations and try to calm the situation down in an unfriendly environment. \u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to achieve goals: \u201cI want to become a professional who, despite the patient\u2019s behavior, remains self-contained and professional. This is why I want to be involved in a variety of challenging listening situations. I need realistic feedback about my  working with patient from my mentor nurse and other nurses\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLINICAL Competence:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the school I have been training to work ergonomically and also at my first internship.  During the simulated nursing scenarios and procedures, I have done my possible best to follow all procedures set aside by the teachers and ethically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During my first internship i have learnt the basics of nursing like; bathing, feeding, aseptic work, patient positioning, patient communiction,drug adminstration and distribution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hope to achieve the following goals:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Work ergonomically during the patient care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Also, I hope my mentor nurse to guide me on the process and path to treat cancers patients internally and in the training unit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Identify the most common symptoms associated with internal and cancer diseases and to treat them and more effectively in different situations cancers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Evaluate the patient\u2019s vital functions, taking into account various diseases and the goals set for their treatment using (ABCDE) assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Can use NEWS to assess patient needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Ability to acquint myself with the ward documentation process and document patients progress on a daily basis<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-I would like to get feedback from my mentor Nurse while this process is going on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TEACHING AND GUIDANCE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a nursing assistant, I have practiced guiding patients and their relatives. I have been guided with the use of various aseptic techniques , patient guidance, catheter insertion and nursing interventions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would like to achieve this goal by listening to both the patient and his\/her family members, in other to be able to give the best practice that I have been able to gain from school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PATIENT SAFETY AND QUALITY OF SOCIAL AND HEALTH CARE SERVICES:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maintaining the safety of the physical, psychological, and social safety of the clients or colleagues has always been the core value of my working life. Is ben known I will get my self acquainted with all the safety procedures and protocols, railings, and emergency spots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My goal is to learn to anticipate incidents in different work environments and pay attention to patient safety. I hope i can discuss with my supervisor what matters are important to each patient and I will independently seek more information regarding patient safety in nursing care. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

WORKING COMMUNITY COMPETENCE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I find myself working well with all kinds of people, even though at first, I may appear to be quiet but with time I tend to open up and give my best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My goal is to be part of the nursing staff. This internship will give me good possibilities to learn to work in a Finnish nursing environment. There are a lot of new things for me to learn, working with nursing staff is one of them.
