I work as public health nurse in secondary education. I have worked there last 13 years and as a public health nurse, almost 25 years in total. ICT made a huge impact in my work year 2002. The Pegasos system was started to be used in healthcare services. Before that we made health report notes writing by pencil to paper. Earlier we drown by pencil for example growth curve. It took so much more time to do that, and error percentage was naturally bigger. If customer wanted to get those knolizes to get for oneself, we had to copy the papers. Nowadays the growth cure is in Oma Kanta immediately after student’s health examination.

Every second year implemented a school health survey by electronically. That survey gets to provide information nationally about the well-being of young people. Wellbeing areas can utilize the results in monitoring the health and wellbeing of young people. National information is available and enables to compare information between municipalities. THL manages and is responsible for research data. Data is free for everyone to use.

Development of mobile devises is in significant role in my work with students, who are ages between 16-21. I believe that in few years student will transfer their health information electronically to our health report system. Report, writing notes to paper does not motivate anymore but real-time report from smartwatch or other smart device arouses interest often more. There is already the preparedness to that but at public health care sector must estimate carefully what system or service is cost-effective. ICT services cost a lot. Data security cost money.  

Although young people and students are skilled to use electrical services we must help them. Help them notice what means example if they share own health information from, they smartwatch. In electrical services time window to cancel is short, there is not possibility to do that. Our adults, in my work my as public health nurse has responsibility to act responsibly self and counsel others.

As a public health nurse, I understand how huge responsibility I have, when I handle health information of students. My works confidentiality obligation helps a lot to handle privacy data. My confidentiality obligation continues for ever but privacy health data in Kanta service can use and share as student decides. I have thought many times that who own’s data. I suspect that we have quite different opinions from that. 2015 I participated in the customer engagement project. That project broke administrative boundaries. There was developed a platform, customer” owned that data”. Student as my customers decided what data we recorded in health information. Student decided in other services how wanted use or complete own health information. Student owned privacy data. During that project I had possibility to see the costs arising from development.

THE RISKS

Data needs electric. We can store energy in batteries but always we need electric to use that battery energy. Our cybersecurity is easily vulnerable without electricity. Without electric must be able to handle situation and to manage without data. Data communication is disrupted nowadays quite many times a week.  Few months ago, there was scary situation when whole lands power outage. Cybersecurity was in danger. The scale of the problem was terrifying and opened many people’s eyes. Data is important assistant, but we always must be awake and aware. We cannot   trust unreservedly, it is worthwhile to think and question sufficiently.

GDPR, THE EU’S NEW DATA PROTECTION LAW

Europe’s new data privacy and security law includes worth of new requirements for organizations. As employee I can require that systems organization has chosen are reliable to use in work. My work is based on several different laws. That data privacy and security law accompanies many of them. GDPR gets and remains me to make check before I public anything data as employer or as a civil person. That law makes me think that whose responsibility is take care of students ’s privacy rights. At their studies there is courses where they get information. On, have they? Is it enough?

 By following users, it has been possible to demonstrate how short is that time people usually use time to read commercial or press release. If I remember right its under one minute, about 30 minutes. It is challenging to get information in short enough time also from data privacy. Data protection clause is there every website we us. How many of us reads all that information text. We get to bored quickly when surfing websites.

CHAT GP

I asked same things using different questions. Answers were partly same but there were some discrepancies. The data had been retrieved so that their mixed author. It is worth asking in complete sentences. When you use CHAT GP it is worth doing well background work. Chat Gp can then help to check have you notice enough many perspectives. Chat GP Scholar GPT works well when you search quick overview of some case. You quickly get many articles where you can utilize source lists. If we same time challenge our brains and thinking, we get the best benefit.

What I learned. It helps me to estimate electric data because I have used same services also before ICT supports possibilities. I continue as curious. What a world. It will not be ready in many decades. Ukraine war has pointed what meaning drones has had. Drones still need soldiers to guide them. Many services need people who can use and utilize ICT services.

I was surprised how much I use and produce information in my work. It was also interesting read other student’s blogs. I chose on purpose students who are from different field of profession. It broadened my understanding of the multifaceted use of digitalised data.
