I am currently working as an expert on a project related to work ability management.
I use MS Office Teams every day at the work, because most of our people work remotely and it is a tool we use every day. I work mostly in the office and it is convenient to call or send a message to a colleague through Teams if you need help in any situation and need a quick solution. We keep in touch with my current team at some level every day through Teams. All project materials are also there, so it is extremely important that Teams works. We also plan and brainstorm new ideas together through it. And if you have a busy day, you can conveniently add various functions to Teams so that the colleagues sees that it is not worth disturbing now. We have been using Teams for many years and unfortunately it still has certain problems that have not gone away over the years. Sometimes it is also difficult to get there, or there are problems with the sound.
Open Learn is an open learning environment, which also provides tools for project work. In my current job, I use the Open Learn learning platform very actively. We have built five different modules of work ability management minicourses there, which companies in South Savo can utilize in their own work ability management. My role is to update and produce content for the learning platform and make sure that everything works flawlessly. I have many years of experience with this environment, so it was easy to start using it again. So I find it very easy and agile, and the platform contains many different functions that can be utilized, for example, in building courses.
I use Instagram almost every day and mainly from a personal perspective. I also use Instagram to some extent for work communication and marketing. But personally, I communicate there on a reasonable level about my own life and things that are important to me. The posts are quite a lot about training, traveling, friends and fun encounters. I am also careful about my own privacy and think carefully about what I share on social media, because everything leaves a trace. Many people make money through Instagram, for example by marketing various products and services to a target group through reels. I have found many good products through references on Instagram.
I use LinkedIn quite actively, mainly from my own professional perspective. I want to showcase my own skills, experience and interests there. I also highlight opportunities at my workplace and other organizations, including open positions. I also try to highlight some proven coachings, trainings or achievements at certain intervals. I have also used LinkedIn’s paid social media marketing in my work, but it didn’t add value to us. However, the user base is not as broad and diverse as Facebook and Instagram marketing. Marketing was also much more expensive compared to other social media channels.
FIVE NEW TOOLS OF SOCIAL MEDIA
Artificial intelligence is here to stay and is constantly developing at a tremendously fast pace, so it is imperative to keep up with the changes. This also contributes to the fact that it is important for every expert to highlight their own expertise, and it has been mentioned that this should be considered from the perspective of the expert’s own personal branding. Artificial intelligence has already automated a lot of routine work tasks. I personally feel very positive about artificial intelligence, because it makes my work a lot easier and I can spend my time on more important tasks.
I have been using Chat GPT , for example, to plan and refine the content of new training sessions. It has given me a lot of new perspectives that I might not have considered myself. In addition, when I am thinking of good title suggestions for an article or publication, for example, I ask artificial intelligence for help. But there would be many more possibilities, and I should use artificial intelligence more systematically.
Copilot is a good friend, for example, when the other day I was thinking about effective texts for social media marketing and asked Copilot for tips on them. The ideas were really good, and I took a couple of tips into use. In this case, I started to think about how advertising agencies, for example, will fare in the future, because they are at least challenged by the enormously rapid advancement of artificial intelligence.
The paid Copilot is also a more secure option because it runs in the organization’s Microsoft cloud. It works very well for creating reports and summaries. I have the same problem with Copilot as I do with Chat GPT. I haven’t even used all the possibilities Copilot has to offer yet. I should use it much more, especially from an analysis and summarization perspective.
Dal-le is an image creation model based on artificial intelligence. You can give it a description (as below – can you create an image of an adult student at a university of applied sciences, a woman thinking about the benefits of dal-le?) and it will suggest an image to create accordingly. It can be used, for example, in various content productions. It is also a cost-effective solution, because it would be extremely expensive to reward a graphic designer to design, for example, a company logo or website design. Dal-le also offers a great opportunity to support visuals.

Artificial intelligence is a good sparring partner, always challenging with better ideas. However, the truth of artificial intelligence needs to be questioned a bit, meaning you need to be careful about what you believe and what you don’t. You should also think carefully about what kind of information you need to feed to artificial intelligence. It is not a good idea to put personal data or trade secrets there. But its potential is huge, and it has been stated that artificial intelligence is not a tool, but a way of thinking. This is why I also chose artificial intelligence as a new tool, because their possibilities are limitless and my use of them is still far too limited.
Miro is a visual collaboration platform that is an excellent tool for planning diverse ideas. It works great with remote teams because it allows simultaneous work on the same whiteboard. Miro is also integrated with Jira and works in the cloud. Miro could also be used, for example, to support entrepreneurship training, because it contains Canvas templates, or in training planning.
Miro, like many other services, operates in the cloud, so information security must be considered. However, Miro requires some familiarity and expertise, so it can be a challenge for some if you already use many other social media tools. The free version are more limited, but larger companies do use paid versions.
Canva is a graphic design tool and my usage is really low. So, it’s really isn`t a tool that I use every day. The organization’s communications department has created various communication templates there that we experts can utilize in our work. The readymade templates make our work easier, as I’m not used to using Canva. However, Canva is an important tool for us, and it makes our work a lot easier when we spend a little more time getting to know the possibilities it offers.
The elements of successful use of Canva are that there are so many different possibilities and communication models that we can utilize in our work. Canva allows for different templates for posters, social media templates, and brochures, for example. Another benefit of Canva is that if you don’t know how to do something yourself, you can share the template you are working on with a colleague, who can make changes to the same template and all the information is saved directly to it.
SELF EVALUATION
Through this task, I took a closer look at the possibilities brought by artificial intelligence and began to compare the differences and possibilities of Chat GPT and Copilot. I have already understood that artificial intelligence is becoming more a part of the everyday life of each of us experts. Fortunately, I do not see it as a challenge, but as a solution to many things. Through practical learning, competence also increases, as was the case with this task.
And for the teacher’s information, it’s worth checking the link “Open Badges”.
