Welcome to Maria Tikkala’s blog.

Digitalisation is transforming working life faster than ever before. New technologies, the rise of remote work, and the expansion of digital services are continuously reshaping how work is carried out, managed, and developed across different industries. In this rapidly evolving environment, understanding digital working life is no longer optional – it is an essential part of modern expertise.

This blog has been created as part of the Digitalized Working Environment course and serves as my personal learning environment. Here, I explore the impact of digitalisation on working life while reflecting on these themes through my own professional background and experience. At the same time, I am also developing new practical skills, such as using WordPress and writing a blog – both of which are new to me.

The blog is structured into several thematic sections, each focusing on key aspects of digitalised environments. In the Digi Society section, I examine how digitalisation is shaping society and driving broader transformations. The Digi Citizen section focuses on the role, skills, and responsibilities of individuals in the digital world. The ePlatforms section explores digital platforms and their significance in work, collaboration, and networking.

In addition, the blog includes my CV and contact information, providing an overview of my professional background and enabling further connections.

In my writing, I combine theoretical perspectives from the course, current insights, and my own observations. The aim is to offer a clear and practical perspective on digitalised working life – and to invite you to explore these themes together with me.
