KELA
Kela was founded in 1937 to pay for national pensions as its name implies. Since then, its operations have expanded, diversified and renewed. Today, Kela is a guarantor of basic security and social security for everyone. Kela takes care of social security from cradle to grave.
I have two children and have used Kela’s services through them. I have received maternity allowance and parental benefit, home care support, maternity pack and child allowance. Once upon a time I received a study grant and a survivor’s pension.
A European Health Insurance Card issued by Kela is entitled to you if you are insured in Finland or Finland is responsible for the cost of your treatment. The card is free and should provide medically necessary medical care while traveling or temporarily staying in another EU or EEA country, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or Northern Ireland.
OMAKANTA
From OmaKanta you can read, among other things, your own health care entries, request recipes, check the results of laboratory and X-ray examinations. You can store your own will and give a license to disclose your own information between different health care units. In addition, you can get an EU corona certificate. In order to sign up for the service, I used my bank IDs to authenticate.
KEVA
Keva is Finland’s largest pension insurer. For example, it takes care of pension issues in the municipal, state and wellbeing services county. In addition, Keva’s mission is to reduce the risk of disability, including by providing employers with work services and researched information to support work ability management. According to Keva’s old -age pension calculator, my lowest retirement age is 67 years 10 months. If I retired then, I would get a pension of 2,362.72 € per month. If I continue working up to the age of 70, my pension would increase by 2,733.26 € per month. So, according to the counter, I have at least 36 years of work.
DIGITAL STORES
The benefit of using digital stores is that you can compare prices between different companies from the comfort of your home. This allows you to get the same product for less. The advantage of online stores is also a larger selection.
Ebay is an international marketplace with more than 30 different sites. Ebay was founded in 1995 and currently employs more than 11,000 people. Both companies and individuals are sellers, distinguishing it from other online stores. The most popular payment method on Ebay is PayPal because of its security.
I have been using ebay for several years, now a little less often. When using the website, you should take into account the reviews received by the seller – by examining them, you can make sure of the seller’s reliability. Using PayPal makes paying easier an more safe. There have been situations where the ordered product has never arrived or it has taken a long time to be delivered. Possible problem situations have always been handled well.
For example: It can be difficult to find protective covers for the phone, especially if the phone is not the latest model. At Ebay you can find covers for older models. When I got married, I used ebay to find decorations. We also saved a lot of time and money when we found cheap wedding invitations on ebay. We got the decorations and invitations at a cheaper price, and the selection was also bigger than in Finland.
OMAMEHILÄINEN
Omamehiläinen is a free digital clinic service by Mehiläinen. The service allows you to book an appointment for your doctor, sign up for receptions, renew your recipes, respond to work gap surveys, and get help in health concerns around the clock.
A similar service is also available in Pihlajalinna, for example. I have no experience with any such services, but they sound good and usable.
DIGITALIZATION AND DIGITAL GAP
Digitalisation is that information technology is increasingly utilized in the organization of everyday life. The change affects all activities of society, ranging from sending messages to banking and health care information. Digitalization is a widespread change in thinking. Some of the services and duties created before digitalisation will disappear and replace with new options. Some of the work stages are automated and paper warfall is reduced.
As digitalisation will increase in the future, it can also make life more difficult. Banking services for small municipalities are reduced as operations move to online banking, clothing stores are reduced when the products are ordered online, doctors’ statements are read from the self -portrait – if a person is excluded from digitalisation, it may eventually be missed and important and up -to -date information will not be received.
DIGITAL COMPETENCE
From this test i got 63 % from information, 60 % from safety, 53 % from communication and 45 % from production.
SELF-REFLECTION
I have used the services discussed during the course (Kela, Omakanta and Keva) before, but with the task I became a little more familiar with them. I was surprised by the remaining working years, it also made me think about my dream job and what I want to do in the future. I feel my English has advanced, though I still feel shy about using it.

Hi,
I agree with you that digitalisation may complicate life in the future. As you wrote, banking services can run out in smaller locations. Not all people may be able to handle banking on the internet, so can this even lead to people’s financial distress?
