ePLATFORMS

MY CURRENT WORKING LIFE

I work as a education designer. Digitization makes it possible to do remote work even more widely, which brings flexibility to my work and the possibility to work from anywhere. Education is also changing: Now and in the future, digital platforms or eplatforms offer opportunities for distance learning and further education in online education. Sector-specific and supplementary suitable courses can be found in the current and maintained training offer, and if necessary, I can also teach the technical use and content production of the courses myself. I use social media in my work, e.g. with the following applications.

So YouTube provides an excellent platform for learning videos. I can switch on various functions from the settings, e.g. in terms of visibility. Through Instagram, I create my own content, that is, I publish pictures and instructions as well as precise and short videos, and I follow the publications of other users. Interaction takes place through Whatsapp and Facebook text messaging features. Linkedin is used for professional networking and is a great place to discover potential job opportunities, contacts and create own personal brand.

All the social media platforms I mentioned above are at least somehow accessible. Digital accessibility supports equality. It means that as many different people as possible can, for example, use online services as easily as possible. In other words, the services and their contents can be used even if the user has, for example, a hearing or vision impairment, a reading and learning difficulty, a memory disorder or, for example, weak Finnish language skills. It is also easier and more pleasant to work with accessible content.

With the General Data Protection Regulation GDPR and privacy regulations, you have to be careful: The requirements for the collection, storage and management of personal data that companies and organizations must comply with.

FIVE NEW SOME TOOL

ChatGPT – I could use ChatGPT for many purposes, such as light programming, content production and text translation. ChatGPT could make many tasks easier and more efficient. ChatGPT is not a source work, because all the information is entered information and the correctness of the information must be checked from the right sources.

DALL-E is an artificial intelligence-based system developed by OpenAI, which can be used to create different media content using only text inputs. In advertising and marketing, I could use DALL-E to create visually fascinating images, and in the game world, I could create wonderful visuals for animations. Ethical aspects can be problematic for artificial intelligence images and in my opinion these created images do not beat real images of nature or what artists do with brushes.

Doodle is useful for organizing meetings, because it allows you to send a message and a meeting invitation, time options for different times to several people at the same time. It does not fill e-mail or other contact channels, and the sender of the invitation easily gets information about the times accepted by the people. The negative feature is that you cannot put personal information into Doodle.

Mobiilivarmenne The mobile certificate provides operators’ customers with a data-secure way to identify themselves and log in to various services. With the mobile certificate, you take care of your business exactly when it suits you: state and municipal public services, insurance matters, health care and much more. It’s easy to use, and you don’t need passwords. It’s enough to remember your own phone number and the code number you choose yourself. This was a very great find and I used it anyway!

European Digital Identity Wallet The wallet allows for electronic identification and for presenting reliable proof of other personal data throughout the EU. The European Digital Identity Wallet will function across national borders. Furthermore, DIWs can store any possible personal data including sensitive ones, directly or indirectly relating to health, sexual orientation, religious or philosophical beliefs, political opinions, financial situation, family life etc

Elements of successful use of digital application with Self evaluation

With the help of digital services, an individual can be offered flexible ways of doing business. Digital services make it easier for the customer to do business regardless of time and place and help citizens to take a more active role for example in the care of their own health and well-being. In order for digital transactions to be an attractive option for a person, the services must be accessible, easy to use and secure. For example, social and healthcare digital services have expanded over the past few years, and especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, digital transactions grew significantly.

Old software and hardware can serve as critical parts of the business even when outdated, but they can also be difficult to repair, vulnerable to security threats and attacks, and impossible to integrate with more advanced systems. Relying on outdated systems can prevent the successful adoption of new technologies. Therefore, digitization and the introduction of a digital application require a systematic change. For example, in some organizations, the biggest challenge is not the introduction of new technologies, but the fact that employees do not want to participate in the necessary changes. In addition to the things mentioned above, good design is an important part of every web application. It should be not only visually appealing, but also intuitive and easy to use. The application must be of high quality, reliable and error-free.

There are both good and bad sides to using social media. Social media serves as an important help and tool for many in work, studies, personal life and relationships. During long distances in Finland, social media and digitalization definitely help people to prevent the feeling of exclusion and loneliness, because it is possible to find connections with relatives and other people even from home. You stay up to date with what’s happening in the world. On the other hand, you can get hooked on certain types of ‘feeds’, become addicted when you can’t live without them. Some people get withdrawal symptoms if they don’t get to ‘smartphone’ at regular intervals. Excessive use is bad. I think the saying ‘Fire is a good ring, but a bad master’ is also suitable for using social media.

This course was useful for me because I am always interested in learning new tools that can help me develop my critical thinking and writing skills. There was a lot of familiar stuff, but there were also new ways to approach it. Artificial intelligence applications can help me expand my knowledge, and on the other hand, they can give me new ideas about my possible learning gaps.
