About my work:

I work as a nurse in a private clinic in laboratory work. In my work, I mostly use the patient information system, where customers can be found and through which, for example, blood tubes can be identified to the client. Other digital devices in my work include analyzers, for example. For communication and information, I use the Teams channel in my work. I don’t use social media channels in my work. If a company wants to update something on the company’s own social media channel, it is done by a person familiar with the task. My job is to take care of customers, and digital tools make it possible to do so quickly and with high quality.

Five new channels:

In the assignment, I need to choose five new social media channels that I could use in my work.

1. ChatGPT:

Positive things: If I needed a quick answer to my question at work, I could use Chat GPT to help me.
Negative things: Reliability. Can I trust the answer because I don’t know where the information comes from because the sources are not marked. Would the answer be in line with the treatment recommendations?

2. Doodle:

Positive things: Application of efficient time management. Helps manage the calendar. You can use the app to stay in touch with people.
Negative things: Similarity with Teams?

3. Monday:

Positive things: Process planning and reporting program. High-quality processes and making decisions easier.
Negative things: In my own work, I use a different process program, where you can find process maps. Difficult to say negative, has no experience in use.

4. Miro:

Positive things: AI-based innovation design program. Would certainly be a handy program for managers or designers. Lots of features and possibilities.
Negative things: Learning how to use it to make AI work as useful as possible and get the right results. Learning to use requires resources and training.

5. Todoist:

Positive things: Task planner. Easier organization of tasks and therefore efficient use of time.
Negative things: When used correctly, it certainly increases productivity. The use of the application should be daily and even hourly.

How I think about social media:

Using social media channels can be a good way to increase marketing in working life. In everyday life, using social media can be excessive and even harmful. Social media offers quick videos, instructions and a lot of information that, in its excess, puts a strain on the brain. In any case, digitalization is the order of the day, and it’s great how functional applications are invented to increase sales, for example. In my own work as a nurse, I can’t really choose which of those channels I could use in my work. Each company chooses the suitable tools for itself and employees act accordingly. In my work, I appreciate the fact that my work is well structured. I have a to-do list that I am implementing. No wonder, because I love to design and making lists even in my free time.

In the social and health care sector, data protection and data security issues must be taken into account in the use of applications, as patient data and personal data must not be threatened. App selectors should take this into account. Apps must be secure.

Self-assessment:

Good task and it was nice to explore new applications. Most of the apps I had never even heard of. It was a little difficult to reconcile this task with my own work. I think if I were already working as a manager, I could have more insight into different design programs.
