My work
I work as a specialist in an ICMT-company. My field of specialty is primary health care. We provide different electric/digital health care systems to our customers. My job is to follow and be aware of the changes and developments taking place in the healthcare operating environment. I also take part in different procurements, drawing up functional requirements. I am also very much involved in different projects.
I mainly use Microsoft Office tools (mosly word, excel, powerpoint) but also other available tools. Teams is also very important, not only in sharing data but communicating, since I mostly work remotely.
In my work it is important that I use only those tools that have been proven secure. There is a lot of sensitive data that I have to handle. Customer safety is also important. I need to make sure that information does not escape. All the new tools that are approved have been evaluated thoroughly by our company’s specialists.
Social media is a good tool to reach to other professionals and to gain information broadly and quickly. It also has its downsides. It is important to critically appraise the information found online. Especially in professional settings, but also in private life. Anyone who uses internet can share whatever they want and sometimes the content might not be valid. So it is important to educate people in media literacy.
Getting familiar with digital apps
LinkedIn is a social media platform for professionals. LinkedIn’s mission is to connect professional worldwide an make them more successful and productive. LinkedIn provides a platform to network, to find jobs and to learn. ( About LinkedIn) I have a LinkedIn account. I could use it more. This is a good platform to share professional news. Professionals can network and share information and new ideas. In my work it is important to acquire a large network of other professionals, so that I can stay in touch with what is going on in my field. I also should post more, but like in my earlier blog where I took the test, I am a poor creator..
Miro
Miro is a visual workplace. It helps to build, iterate, and design faster (Miro | The Visual Workspace for Innovation.) I have some experience in using it in my previous job. I found it to be a very good tool. In my current job I also have access to Miro, but haven’t really had an appropriate project or a task to utilize it. Miro is a great tool to visualize things and to use it in workshops when brainstorming or gathering up ideas. It is very easy to use. I also like the fact that it is easy to share with others when working on things simultaneously.
Todoist
Todoist is a task management tool that helps a person to organize, prioritize and do daily tasks. (Ominaisuudet | Todoist). This kind of a planner could be useful for me in my work. I have many overlapping tasks to do and deadlines to do them. I use my calendar to organize my days and weeks, but it does not have all the properties that I need to remember and keep up with my work. I’ve used Microsoft planner sometimes but is does not have all ther properties that I wish. This Todoist seems to have good qualities.
Youtube
Youtube is a platform to share video content created by different creators. I of cource have used a lot of Youtube, mostly by watching different content in my free time and also work. I have also created some content, mainly for school work (these videos are not shared publicly). There is a lot of professional content that I can use in my work. Fortunately a good propotion of organizations use Youtube to share their events, seminars or other educational or information sharing contents that are easily available in Youtube. I don’t see myself creating work related contant, do to the nature of my work. Maybe if our company decided to share something via Youtube, but that is a different story.
Doodle
Doodle is an online scheduling app (Free online meeting scheduling tool | Doodle). This would be a very useful tool to use. I have to boo a lot of different meetings. It is easy to book meetings withing our own company, where I can see the other participants calendar. But when it comes to meetings beyond our own company, it is always time consuming to ask suitable dates etc. Doodle would be useful for this.
Key elements to a successful digital application

First point was to serve customers where they are, might it be face-to-face or online. It’s also important to provide them the services they need.
Second point reminds to build a healthy ecosystem. This means understanding the environment, looking forward, cultivating ideas and finding the right people.
The third point was to use data to create value. A digital solutions need data and analytics to understand customers, their behavior, preferences and needs. Understanding customers help to improve services.
The fourth point was to measure the right things.
The fifth point was to learn from competitors. Companies should collaborate with others to create value for customers. This could help companies to expand their reach, offer new services, and create new revenue streams.
