Kela <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Kela is social insurance institution of Finland, which provides basic economy security for everyone living in Finland. You might need Kela\u2019s service under various life situations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the moment, I don’t receive any economic benefits from Kela because my children are over 17 years old and I have no need for any other economic benefits. Last summer I had such a situation that I got sickness allowance from Kela as compensation for loss of income. I was not able to do my job as a paramedic. If I would need prescribed medication for the treatment of the illness, Kela would pay reimbursements for medical expenses. Maximum annual limitation is 626,94 \u20ac\/ year. After that you have to pay only 2,50 \u20ac\/ purchased medicine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

OmaKanta <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I have used OmaKanta relatively often, because I have had health issues lately and needed to check medical reports and lab-results. I also take care of my father\u2019s medical issues on OmaKanta. He has given me authorization to do that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keva <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If I continue working as a paramedic, I’ll be retiring at almost 70 years old. My pension will be too low. Pension accrues at a rate of 1.5% of annual income. After I turn 63, the percentage increases, significantly affecting the amount of pension <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Digital Shop <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I purchase my horse\u2019s feed from webstore Tallitukku. The only reason is that they don\u2019t have store here in Oulu area. I find this online store reliable. It is based in Finland and owned by Finnish citizens. They sell high-quality products and I have only good experiences with them. Data protection statement looks incomplete, like something is missing. Perhaps they should update their privacy policy. Otherwise information is well available.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Udemy <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Udemy is online learning platform where you can choose thousands of courses across various different field. Courses are reasonably affordable prices and you can prep old skills or learn new ones. You can also earn certifications by undergo Udemy online courses. I find this platform very useful for students, professionals and those, who are interested in learning at their own pace. I purchased Udemy\u2019s AZ-900 Microsoft Azure certification prep \u2013course for just 15 USD and it was worth every penny. I got Udemy\u2019s certification and now I have an option to take Microsoft\u2019s certification test. Initially, I didn\u2019t know anything about Azure! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m also eager to learn more about Microsoft\u2019s services and perhaps I\u2019ll continue learning online through Udemy platform.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Digitalization and digital gap <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Digitalization should not be a privilege only for those who can utilize digital devices, platforms, and services. Important information may not reach those who have limited access or skills to digital services. It may cause a situation that person considers digital services too difficult and avoid using them. Poor digital skills can hinder employment opportunities, as nearly every job requires some level of IT proficiency. Digital exclusion may also lead to careless behavior in digital services. People with poor skills and knowledge may fail to understand security risks in digital platforms. they may become scammed more easily as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Digital Competence test <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The results did not surprise me. Technical parts are the most challenging for me. I understand them, but doing those technical tricks by myself is not easy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Self-reflection <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Being a digi citizen comes natural to me. I am adaptable person and don\u2019t hesitate to utilize digital services and \u201clive virtual\u201d. I find this a common way to handle things. I cannot remember last time I visited bank or insurance company. I even did my real estate transactions in my own living room. All the documents were signed digitally. If I need to contact health care provider, I\u2019ll open \u201cDigital sote-centre” and chat with nurse. I think it is a very well-functioning service.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Digital citizenship is kind of forced upon us. We cannot choose, if we want or not handle things digitally.\u00a0The first option is usually \u201cdigital\/ virtual way\u201d, but luckily we still have face to face \u2013services too. Those are very important for many people, but not for me. This assignment helped me to understand meaning of digital citizen and how can I, in my field, help less capable individuals access digital services.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
