Current job and use of different digital tools

The company I work for is Farmania Oy. Farmania Oy offers a wide range of expert services for pharmacies and life science industry. But my main job is in the company Formedica Finland Oy. The company imports, sells and maintains medical devices. In my main work, I use Outlook mailbox, we hold meetings through Teams, and we communicate with colleagues via Whatsapp. I also use Linkedin in my work and sometimes post publications to the organization’s profile. In the pharmaceutical field, I use Kela, usually I check the rules for issuing medicines or I look for information for the client. There are programs in use in which prescription drugs are processed and in which a pharmacy operates ( Salix, Maxx, Pd3).

Five new tools for me

Youtube

I guess that I could use YouTube in my work, share information about new devices with clients, show them how to use them, in what cases, and thereby attract even more attention in the company.

Miro

The Miro platform could be an additional tool for collaboration with foreign colleagues. With it, the work could be more focused and purposeful. Different culture, mentality and communication language sometimes complicate cooperation, with the help of this platform I see the possibility of easier communication.

Canva

For Linkedin posts and product brochures, we could use Canva app. It will also help build brand awareness.

Blogger or WordPress

I could update our company website and blog on the site about the various events in which the company participates.

Asana

I might use for project management and distribution of responsibilities. A clearer and more structured tool.

Pros and cons of social media

Digital tools are very important to me in my social life. They help me keep in touch with my relatives and with friends, save my time, find useful information or connect with people of interest. The only negative side that I see for myself is the lack of security of my personal information in some cases, as well as the possibility of hacker attacks that periodically occur even with personal social networks.

For the younger generation, I see more negative aspects, such as communication through a social network is not equivalent to live communication. Access to various videos that may be violent. Here I see it important to set limits and regulate both access to sites and time spent on social networks.

The elements of successful use of digital application

I believe that Internet etiquette should be taught in the same way as in everyday life. Attentive listening, turning off the sound if there are background noises, polite communication, the right to self-expression. A professional is a professional in self-presentation too, and when we work more and more remotely, I see it important that every professional starts with himself and follows friendly, polite communication on social networks.

Self-evaluation

The e-platform gave me an understanding of the existence of many platforms that can make my daily work easier or increase the efficiency of the work. In my field of work, social media is still very rarely used. Nevertheless, the ability to use digital tools in work does not replace live communication, it is very important to preserve the team spirit.
