In my personal life, I have also received support from Kela during my previous studies, and nowadays I receive child benefits from Kela as well. It is good that we have a strong social support system in Finland. I have received a European Health Insurance Card, but it does not really affect my daily life in any visible way. I have carried it with me while traveling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I use OmaKanta from time to time, most often to read medical notes after visiting healthcare services. OmaKanta also conveniently contains prescriptions, which can be renewed through the online service, as well as other health information such as vaccinations received. For example, I recently checked the validity of my tetanus vaccination through OmaKanta. In my opinion, OmaKanta is an easy-to-use and simple website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had never visited Keva\u2019s website before, but I have occasionally received information about my accumulated pensions by mail. Usually I have not paid much attention to them because I know I still have many years left before retirement. When I checked the matter now, my information was not visible on Keva\u2019s website either, because I have worked in the private sector in recent years, which means my information is managed by another pension company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ONLINE MARKETPLACES AND LOCAL STORES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I admit that I am an online shopper, and I often compare prices between different websites and local stores. However, I have never used sites such as eBay or Amazon before. I have booked hotels for vacations through Booking.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this assignment, I compared the prices of Apple AirPods Pro 3 between Amazon and local Finnish companies. On Amazon, the price of the product was \u20ac224.28, while at DNA, Power, and Gigantti the price was \u20ac229 in each store, so almost the same. Ordering from Amazon would most likely also include shipping costs. If I were buying the product now, I would most likely purchase it from a local store. However, if the price difference were significantly larger, such as \u20ac100 or more, I would consider buying it from an online marketplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The information available about the device and service on Amazon\u2019s website is the same as on the websites of local stores. In addition, user experiences and product reviews are available, which may also influence purchasing decisions. Online stores may also attract customers with various discount coupons and loyalty program benefits. In this comparison, Amazon seemed like a reliable place to buy the product, even though I have never used it before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OMA KYMENLAAKSO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this task, I tried using the Oma Kymenlaakso application of my local wellbeing services county. It is a digital service platform provided by the wellbeing services county of Kymenlaakso. Users log in to the application using online banking credentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the application, users can book healthcare appointments, contact health centers, and use emergency care or maternity clinic chat services. The application also includes different care pathways, such as blood pressure monitoring or self-care coaching for concentration and wellbeing. Users can also view their laboratory results and fill out forms through the app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The application is clear and easy to use, and it provides versatile access to health and social services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DIGITALIZATION AND THE DIGITAL DIVIDE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Especially elderly people or individuals who otherwise need assistance in their daily lives are at risk of exclusion due to the digitalization of services if all transactions and services take place online. One challenge is accessibility \u2014 a person who cannot or does not know how to use digital services does not have equal access to all services, which may cause frustration and dependence on help from others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not everyone has internet access, a smartphone, or a computer. Digital skills are also increasingly needed in working life, and many jobs require at least basic IT skills. If an employee does not sufficiently master the use of digital services and systems, finding employment or managing work tasks can become significantly more difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Access to real-time information may also become harder if a person cannot use online services, since many news updates and services are published online. Poor digital skills can also increase the risk of being scammed online. It is important to ensure that digitalization is developed in a human-centered way while taking different needs into account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SELF-ASSESSMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Digital services are a natural part of my everyday life, and I use them almost constantly. I continuously receive news updates on my phone and stay informed about current events. While browsing social media, I see a great deal of everyday life from both people I know and complete strangers. I am able to search for information on different topics whenever I want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many everyday tasks can also be handled through online services \u2014 banking, grocery orders, online doctor appointments, and almost anything else one can think of. We are also fortunate in Finland to have extensive and reliable internet connections almost everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This assignment has been a good opportunity to stop and think more carefully about how much digitalization is present in our lives and how it affects our everyday routines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Digitalization brings flexibility and convenience to people\u2019s everyday lives and work, but I hope we do not forget the importance of meeting each other face to face as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KELA, OMAKANTA &amp; KEVA Kela has already become familiar to me through my earlier social services studies, when I learned about different social benefits.
