Social Media & Digital Tools in My Daily Work

Digital platforms and social media tools have become integral components of modern working life. As a production supervisor in assembly and manufacturing, I use digital tools on a day-to-day basis to facilitate my work and ensure efficiency. This assignment has allowed me to research different digital tools that can be used for my professional life and assess their benefits and risks. In this blog post, I aim to discuss the digital tools that I currently use, assess five new social media tools, and discuss the factors that make digital applications successful.

My Current Job & Digital Tools I use

  • ERP System (Enterprise Resource Planning): Used for production planning, material tracking, work orders, and inventory management.
  • Email & Microsoft Teams: For communication with colleagues, reporting issues, and coordinating with maintenance, quality, and logistics.
  • Digital Dashboards: Used to monitor KPIs such as OEE, cycle time, downtime, and production output.
  • Barcode Scanners & RFID: For tracking components and ensuring accurate material flow.
  • Maintenance Management Software: Used to report machine issues and track maintenance activities.

These tools help me stay organized, make quick decisions, and maintain smooth production flow.
