My job is to assess the need for treatment via the chat service and by phone. I use many different digital tools in my work every day, for example: Phone system, Chat application, Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Työvuorovelho-application, patient information system Dynamic Health, Online appointment booking sites for private health centers and Whatsapp, what I use to chat with colleagues outside of work. We have many different systems and websites open at the same time on the computer. We use all these sites and applications at the same time. We book appointments at a private treatment facility through the patient information system or the website. We also record self-care instructions in the patient information system.

DOODLE: I think doodle is similar to Teams. I would be interested in trying a new platform where we could organize meetings. Using Doodle seems easy and flexible. There is no need to use a separate e-mail. The program can also be used to easily create surveys.

YOUTUBE : Youtube is not new to me, but it is not used at my workplace. We could use it, for example, by making how-to videos for customers. The videos could cover topics such as wound care, first aid for accidents, when to contact healthcare. For example, we could direct customers to watch videos when they call us at the first time. We could also use the application by making instructional videos about working for new employees.

MIRO : Our work requires a lot of different instructions, which must be updated frequently. At our workplace, there are different development groups that could use the Miro tool. With the help of the tool, it is easy to follow at what stage a colleague is making a plan. If necessary, you can also leave a comment for the colleague to see. However, the tool is paid for if you want to use more functions. So I think we don’t use the tool at our workplace.

WIX : This was a completely new app for me. Creating homepages is easy with the help of the program, even if you have no previous experience in creating websites. I could see this service in our workplace, because at the moment the service does not have a homepage. So we could make the homepage with the help of Wix.

BLOGGER : We could keep a blog with colleagues using Blogger. The blog could be related to our work and be closed because of it. I noticed that many unfamiliar application names were ones that are used at my workplace, but through a different application. For example, there are several different meeting platforms, as well as platforms intended for teamwork. It was great to notice that for almost every application I knew one or more similar applications.

Positive sides of social media:

Negative sides of social media:

  • wrong information
  • unreal

It was interesting to get to know different platforms. I learned that there are several similar platforms.
You have to choose the most suitable one for yourself or your workplace, so it can be difficult sometimes. It was good to think about how many different applications we already use in my work. I believe that companies are careful about what kind of applications they use. For example, ease of use, price and safety affect the choice. It’s great to notice that I’m learning more about digitalization again.
