This week, with the guidance and cooperation with my mentor nurse, I have been able to transition successfully from a basic caregiver in which capacity I work as prior to this internship to a more defined, demanding role required of nurses.
I was involved in the admission of a resident who has been at a waiting center at Silinjarvi into the care home facility. On admission, there were a lot of information about the resident that needed to be put into consideration such as the underlying medical conditions, medications, daily routine and so on. These information were clearly communicated with other members of the care team to ensure continuity of care. I did the initial assessment using the MMSE in which she had a score of 9 which indicated severe cognitive impairment. A comprehensive assessment using the RAI assessment tool will be done in subsequent days but for now the resident is getting used to her new environment.

I am glad that your first week has gone well and that you have been hands-on. You have already got familiar with the unit and has been able to carry out cognitive functional assessment of one of the elderly client, gaining the experience, that is crucial in planning care for the client. I guess you will learn more through the RAI assessment.
One thing I’ve noticed is the fact that there are plenty of common myths regarding the financial institutions intentions when talking about foreclosures. One misconception in particular is the fact the bank needs to have your house. The lender wants your hard earned money, not your own home. They want the funds they loaned you with interest. Preventing the bank will undoubtedly draw a new foreclosed realization. Thanks for your post.
