This week I have been focused on the nutrition and oral care of the residents. I ensure that their servings of food is as colorful as possible as per my workplace policy, this is one way to ensure that residents get as diverse nutrients as possible in their meals. Also I was made to understand that their morning porridge is prepared with milk, this helps to provide more nutrients rather than water as the milk is fortified with calcium and so on.
I observed that the oral care of the residents is not given much importance, I brought this to the notice of my other workers in order to ensure both morning and night tooth-brushing as tolerated.
