Kela

Kela manages the social security of people living in Finland in different life situations. When I had coronavirus several times, my employer received communicable disease allowance from Kela. Previously, I have received student financial aid, child benefit and maternity allowance from Kela. I do not have a European Health Insurance Card, I applied for it from Kela.

OmaKanta

I log in to OmaKanta with online banking credentials or a certificate card. I look at Omakanta, for example, laboratory test results or doctor's notes.

KEVA

You can also log in to the KEVA website with online banking credentials or a certificate card. You can check your retirement age and accrued pension on the website. My minimum retirement age is 65 years 5 months and my target retirement age is 68 years 5 months.

Online shopping

I use online stores quite a bit. Their prices are often cheaper. I have been scammed once and have lost about 100 euros of money. In modern times, it is common for purchases to be made from an online store. This is a pity, because it significantly reduces the profitability of small shops.

Application from my own field

In my work, I use remote appointments and chat. The chat is mainly used by young people. Remote appointments also work better with young people. Elderly people prefer to meet face-to-face, and not everyone has access to smart devices. In my opinion, it is good to meet mental health clients face-to-face because a nurse can be their only contact. Digitality is also the future in healthcare. The patient information system is the most used digital program in my work.

Digitalization and digital gap

Digitization can be a risk for people who don't own a computer or smartphone. Often these people are elderly or marginalized. They do not receive as wide a range of services as people who have access to remote doctor's appointments, for example. For children and adolescentFor , the digital world is a given, while the older generation has to learn everything from scratch.

Digital Competence Test

Self-evaluation

I was shocked by my own retirement age! I also thought about how little it is to use KELA's services when you are of working age. I can recommend the digital competence test to everyone. I recognized my own strengths and weaknesses with the help of the test.

    Hello,

I am sorry to hear, that you have lost money in a scam. That is a real problem for online shops. I also feel insecure to buy online.

You are right, that many need to meet face to face. That cannot be completely replaced by virtual services.

And here is my blog https://blogi.savonia.fi/foggysite/

  2. Hi! Your blog post was interesting to read. I also work with young people myself and it was interesting to read that distance learning also works with young people. In my own work, I meet young people mainly face-to-face, but we also have the possibility of remote meetings, which I could make more use of in the future.

I have been scammed once too, luckily I paid by PayPal and was able to get my money back. I think that the biggest danger is quality. Many poor quality online shops have websites which looks like it is Finnish or European shop, but everything comes straight from China.

I too have been scammed when shopping online and it was definitely not a nice experience

  5. In my work, I have also noticed that young people are inclined to use remote services, but older clients prefer face-to-face interactions. It is important to provide them with that option, even though the trend in our industry is towards an increase in remote services
