KELA offers people living in Finland various services related to social security. Kela’s services are used, for example, when you are sick, rehabilitating, need housing support or other special support when it is not available elsewhere.
I have used Kela’s services mainly in cases of illness. When the employer’s obligation to pay the salary decreases or ends, due to the prolongation of the sick leave, then it is possible to receive sickness allowance from Kela. Similarly, while on paternity leave, I have received compensation from Kela when the employer’s salary payment obligation has ended.
With the KANTA service, you can check your own and, in certain cases, other people’s health-related information. Likewise, you can give different consents in the service. When logging into the service, strong identification is required. You must have, for example, bank credentials or a mobile certificate that sends a message to your phone. After this, you must accept or cancel the request. In the next step, your phone will ask for a password, and after entering this, you may still have to accept 1-3 messages. Next, you will be redirected to the website of the verification administrator and we will make sure that the personal information displayed there is correct. If this is the case, then you press the button from which you will be redirected to the service provider’s website, i.e. Kantaa.
KEVA, i.e. the municipal pension insurance institution, is the entity that takes care of the pension issues of public sector employees. On the other hand, in the service you can apply for various rehabilitation subsidies, work trial issues, rehabilitation, sickness pensions, and there you can also check your own pension accumulation and familiarize yourself with the calculation behind it.
My retirement age information retrieved from Keva’s system is described below. I didn’t use a separate calculator that I could have used to check the amount of my pension at certain retirement dates. The change for these age groups is around 300 euros per month.

EBay is a very familiar trading place for me and I have purchased goods there for myself as well as for my company. In this case, we get to know the patient’s previous health information and it is much safer to start treatments.
Digitalization is moving forward at breakneck speed in healthcare. Along with the welfare areas and of course in other ways, the number of remote services will increase and more and more often you will come across different bots or other chat services on different sites. It can even be difficult for people who are left out of society and the school system to get hold of various services. Older people may also have difficulties using these services, and thus some of them may even jeopardize patient safety.
I have quite strong expertise in various areas of information technology. I have studied information technology for about seven years and have done things with it since the 1980s.
The issues of this task were already quite familiar. For my work, I have used numerous different services and information systems, and on the other hand, my own interest in information technology has increased my skills. Using the services to manage my own affairs has also brought more know-how.

I also work in healthcare sector, and I have noticed how fast digitization is coming a bigger and bigger part of the healthcare. Digitization must take place on people´s terms. You were writing about the patient safety; I agree that we have to remember people who might have difficulties to use and get services. We don’t see all the effects right now how welfare area is working and are we going to right direction, but maybe after five years we have some data and development targets to it.
