When I started working as a nurse we had patient files in paper, so most of the documenting was done by paper. Now the digitalization has made a giant leap in healthcare, with electronic patient record system that uses automation and artificial intelligence. Digitalization had already started before the COVID-19 pandemic burst out but digital solutions increased during the COVID-19 pandemic for example appointment to healthcare professionals were done remotely.

I believe that work tasks will change in my field of expertise but it’s unlikely that work will be replaced by robotics, automation and artificial intelligence because of our aging population increases the need for healthcare personnel. Digital solutions are helping our decision-making process and performs as a factor that eases workload or making our work more efficient and safer, not replacing. Robots will work beside of us or will be swimming inside of us as nanorobots. It is said that in healthcare and creative fields will occur the least amount of job losses.

I expect a lot from the future in my field of expertise, remote healthcare services optimizing availability and accessibility to patients regardless of time and place, and making possible to work partly remote what I believe will impact on my job satisfaction.

Healthcare will change more and more to preventive care with implementing IoT technologies and artificial intelligence. Diagnostics and personalized medical care will improve with digital solutions and technologies.

Patient data has always been available to patients when needed but now with GDPR and Kanta service the data is more transparent and visible so as a healthcare professional I must pay more attention and more detail to my writing. In addition, my text must be in everyday language, whereas before I used more medical vocabulary.

Positive effects is that patients can for example ask to correct or delete data if it’s incorrect.

SELF-EVALUATION

Cyber-crime is something that I need to know more and how to prevent it with my own actions. The cybercrime video was very insightful.
