I became quite familiar about the place and its working environment. During this week I had opportunity to gave medicine to clients. I kept in mind the hand hygiene and disinfection rules while administrating medicine. As I already mentioned that in 1st week s reflection that in this particular place clients do not need much help and care. Clients need supervision or reminders because of memory problem which is common medical problem of elderly population.
During this week I checked medicine of few clients. One client was worried about her medicine. She talked about changing of medicine with designated nurse. Client also talked with her doctor and according to her symptoms doctor changed medicine. She told about this to nurse and nurse confirmed it with doctor. After that my mentor nurse asked me to remove old medicine from medicine bag and add new medicine to client s medicine bag. I did that process and cut old medicine name and wrote new medicine s name and dosage.
