I have visited the Keva website before. Today’s working life is a burden, and the idea of “if I were to retire now” flashes through my mind from time to time. Today, there is talk of raising the retirement age raising the retirement age even higher. From the point of view of the national economy, people should stay in working life longer. My lowest retirement age is 66 years 4 months and my target retirement age is 68 years 2 months according to current knowledge. This can be seen on Kevas pages.
I have used digital stores to, for example buy clothes. Things have moved online and in stores, for example, furniture stores may not have the same products in store at the same price as found in the online store. There are questions related to buying from the online store, such as whether the guarantee replaces, whether you can return, how to get the money back, etc. Online shopping has increased and will continue to increase in the future. At the same time, increasing crime online information security is worth paying attention to. The ecology, ethics and sustainability of the products being purchased give rise to ideas. Origin of products, etc. A certain level of criticism and caution about which sites to use is necessary.
Virtual services are essential to get the service you need. Accessibility will increase as digital services increase. Today, you need to know how to use the digital clinic and appointment booking services. Online banking is mandatory in order to identify and survive in today’s society. Older people face a challenge. Exclusion and falling out of society’s support system is a risk for people who, for one reason or another, do not use digital services.
This task forced thinking and a peek e.g. to the side of Kela with the idea even surprised. In the end, Finland has handled all the important issues in one place really well and centrally. I was able to log in to my own data and reflect on things from a more digital perspective. Usually these platforms happen when you need something, and today it is quite rare, I also noticed that Kela is active on social media. The aim is to actively share information. Kela’s website also included links to all other necessary digital services, such as omakanta.
I have commented on Mari Heikkinen’s, Päivi Parvianinen’s and Hanna Björklöf’s blogs.
MY DIGITAL COMPETENCE TEST
I did the Digital Competence test and the results are displayed below.
Hi Sanna,
Interesting blog post. Your text shows digital thinking. I thought about the same when I was on Kela’s website and I noticed how they try to do things more clearly.
Hi Sanna,
Thank you for sharing your experience with the social insurance system in Finland.
Kind regards,
Asta
Hello Sanna! I was so amused by your comment “if i were to retire today….” 🙂 I get exatly the same thougt every now and then! I am in my fifties and I have 12 years to go to my first possible target date of retirement. I think this kind of thinking is, as you also wrote, a sign of the workload and the demands of the worklife. In this stage of life you start to think about the purpose of life when the kids are grown and finally you have time and chance to think about what you really want from your life. Stilla, I predict that when I finally get close to retirement age, my mind will have changed and I will want to continue until the recommended date.
Hi Sanna,
Thank you for your blog post. I’m also excited about what my minimum retirement age will be. It’s terrifying when you think about today’s youth. Will they ever retire.
Greetings, Nina
