ePLATFORMS

I work as a medical laboratory technologist in a primary care laboratory. My duties include taking samples, guiding the patient on site and on the phone, and examining samples. I also have respon-sibilities. I am responsible for onboarding point-of-care-analytics, ordering and checking invoices. In addition, I carry out internal evaluations in laboratories in my area and participate actively in the development of my work. In my work, I use a laboratory system, an appointment booking system, and a web manuals. Work instructions I find on my own organisation`s intranet. For orders, I use various online ordering systems. A dedicated web browser based system is used to check the invoi-ce. Inter-laboratory communication takes place in Teams and via e-mail. Teams has been a con-venient place to organize meetings, inform about changes, and share and edit files. Now I am going to presentate 5 new tools to me which I could utilise in my work. I chose these e-platforms because they could make working easier, save time and one of these applications could even im-prove the quality of laboratory tests. Let’s take a closer look at them!

MURAL
Mural is a virtual interface which helps teams to work together in projects. Members of the team can create and share notes, images and text in real time. Users can brainstorm, make mind maps and plan projects. Mural is useful to employees who work in remote but need to work together. In my work, Mural could be practical tool to service design. There is a whiteboard, where you can ma-ke a sketch of customer`s process in the laboratory and begin to developing and planning better services. Benefits of the Mural are possibilty to efficient teamwork and collaboration and its various and useful tools. The use of Mural may incur costs if more storage space is needed. New users also need to learn how to use murals. Mural maintains to protect customer data and adhere to global, regional, and industry regulations. Anyway it is worth considering what information can be shared, as the security policies of your organization must be followed.

DALL-E
DALL-E is AI system which is spesialized to create art and images from a description in natural lan-guage. DALL-E could help me in daily work to create images to laboratory instructions. Advantages might be saving time and editing images is easy. Yoy might also save money, because you dont need photgrapher. Downsides might be quality of the image is not high, if you descride image bad-ly. You don’t have artistic talent, but AI needs really clear and precise instructions. There also might be some ethical questions with images of DALL-E. How AI takes copyright and plagiarism in-to account? DALL-E is paid and it may require education to utilize it efficiently.

WHATSAPP
WhatsApp is a free instant messaging app. It is used to send messages, images, videos and voice messages. There is also possibility to group chats on smartphones. In my work, WhatsApp could be a good communication channel. Work arrangements could notify several people at the same time. WhatsApp can also lift a group of spirits if there is a nice conversation. It is easy-to-use, user don’t need education. WhatsApp has had vulnerabilities and security issues. If WhatsApp is used in the workplace, attention should be paid to updating the group members. The risk is that the wrong person has been accidentally added to the group or the person who changed jobs has not been to be removed from the group. What if the mobile phone is stolen? Therefore, WhatsApp is not suitab-le for processing confidential information. If the application is used outside working hours, it is also good to consider whether everyone wants to be reachable. What is working time and what is free time? Does everyone want to install that app, or does everyone even have a smartphone?

CHATGPT
ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence, an algorithm, developed by. ChatGPT learns from huge text da-ta on the web and answers to the questions that are presented to it. It can respond to a wide ran-ge of topics and questions, and even tell jokes and poems, among other tasks. In my own work, ChatGPT could be useful in planning lectures and projects. It could be used to design a frame for a lecture or you could ask it for help with projects so that all the important things would be taken into account. ChatGPT would also be helpful in translating instructions into other languages. When using ChatGPT, the user should remember its limitations. Because it uses all the internet’s text data, it can also give incorrect answers. The user should be able to formulate the questions accurately and clearly, but also evaluate the answers given by ChatGPT.

YOUTUBE
YouTube is a online video-sharing platform. Users can upload, view, share, and comment on videos in Youtube. Youtube is easy-to-use and offers a huge variety of videos on a variety of topics inclu-ding entertainment, music, education, tutorials and news. I would like to utilize Youtube in my work, for example in developing sampling instructions. The instructions could have a QR code that would lead to a YouTube video. In the video, the customer would see how sampling is done cor-rectly and with high quality. The downside of YouTube is advertising. They may come before the beginning of the video. When publishing content, it is necessary to consider copyright issues and carefully consider that the video does not show anything to be kept secret and the video content is produced in high quality. YouTube collects information about users’ viewing habits. At this point, there may be concerns about privacy. Based on the use of YouTube, users can be recommended content that can reveal issues related to their private lives.

ELEMENTS OF SUCCESSFUL USE OF A DIGITAL APPLICATION
When using digital applications, the user should find out the application security policies and priva-cy policy. For successful use, the terms of use and privacy policies of the service are always worth reading. The information security practices of the work organization should either not be forgotten, as they may differ from those of the application.
Employees must be aware of what information is public information that can be shared and what, in turn, is confidential. When searching for information, the user should be able to assess the accu-racy and reliability of the information. It is important that the harmful content of the platform is communicated to the administrators and should be the responsibility of the user. The importance of education must not be forgotten. For some applications, it is useful to study the use of applications, as it enables the efficient use of the application. For application developers, it is important to con-sider the usability of applications. The use of the application should be easy to learn and remem-ber. The user-friendly application is easy to navigate, its layout is clear and its language unders-tandable. Usability is directly linked to the user’s satisfaction and intention to use the app in the fu-ture.

SELF EVALUATION
With this task, I learned about new applications and how to evaluate their use in working life. When doing this task, I was left to think about the risks associated with artificial intelligence and social media. When searching for information, I found an interesting podcast where I found new perspectives on artificial intelligence. The information produced by artificial intelligence can be so accurate that it is impossible to distinguish between what is the product of human and what is the product of artificial intelligence. AI can influence opinion shaping, as it uses all content on the In-ternet, including disinformation. An interesting point of view is that in the future, artificial intelli-gence would produce content for companies’ social media. Do we want updates from people or AI? Another interesting aspect of the podcast was that AI can interact better, as it can be empathetic and take into account the individual’s special needs. AI could be a better teacher or nurse. This is a scary idea, but on the other hand, could AI advise an employee how would it be good to act for a particular individual? In summary, this course has been interesting. The number of different apps and social media is huge. I have always been interested in new technology. This course added to my knowledge of digital environments.
