OmaKanta

I use OmaKanta regularly to check my own health information. I can log in to OmaKanta using my banking credentials. I also use OmaKanta to request a prescription renewal.

While doing this task I found how I can check where my records have been handled. I can easily check which healtcare units and pharmacies have handeled my health records.

I think that OmaKanta has made it easier to manage my own health data. I can easily check my healt data which I would find hard to remember without the OmaKanta system.

I have to admit that this is the first time I hear about the European Healt Insurance Card. I do not travel often, so this is not current issue in my life. This card is a very good and usefull. I bet that many traveller will need medically neccessary treatments in destination country.

PENSION

67 years and 7 months in the youngest age I can retire. If I can work until I’m 70 years old, my pension will rise a few hundred only in a two years. I think the purpose of this method is to encourage embloyees to work as long as possible. I also think that this systems really motivates.

Even though  I’m 34 now and it feels a bit bizarre that I still have so many years left of working life.

DIGITAL SHOPS

Like everyone else I also use digital shops. Last thing I bought something online was a few weeks ago. I bought guitar strings. when I started planning to buy guitar strings I compared prices from local music shop and gigital shop. Guitar strings costs 10,90 € in local music shop. Same product costs 8,90 € in Verkkokauppa.com. Delivery charge will still come though in addition. Shipping costs were 4,90 €.

Digital shops are very easy and quick to use. I dont have to move to the next city or even leave the house. I found the product easily online. I paid conveniently with my online banking credentials. And the package arrived in my mailbox in a couple of days. How easy is that!

Even though I paid more for the product with shipping costs I believe I saved money and time. I did not need to drive to another city to the music shop. Also parking costs few euros so I saved that money too.

SERVICE FROM MY OWN FIELD

I work in a spa hotell. In hotell business there are several digital shops for booking hotel stays. Sometimes our customers wonder why our hotells own prices are more expensive than booking.com, for example. I really can not say how online shops can sell hotel stays with so low prices.

I compared prices from Booking.com and Hotell Lapland Kuopio.

In Lapland Hotel Kuopio, room type Northers Comfort Douple costs 149 €.

In Booking.com at the same date and same room type costs 142 €. I can also use Genius Level 1 which gives – 10 % of the price. So I can book same room much cheaper. This level system entice customers to choose this booking channel. Of course, because it saves really money.

Also Bookin.com is reliable. Thousands of customers uses this site and it gives what it promises.

When we talk about convenience andprices, local shops cannot compete with online shops.

SELF REFLECTION

I am that type of a person who loves digital services. I allways choose digital shops instead of face to face shops. I use these, because I think these are much easier. Also I can save money. I like to think that my digital skills are at good level. I did the digital competence test and it made me suspicious abot my digital skills. I need to pay more attention to my own data security. Sometimes I am too care free about my own digital safety.

This course has taught me a lot. I have ralised that my work is very digitalised. I can continue to benefit from digitalisation.

I also have learned the basics of blogging!
