Digital tools I have been using during my recent years in working life have been Teams, Word, Outlook and SharePoint. Most of these digital tools are used also now during my recent studies in Savonia University of Applied Scienses.
Five tools of social media which I chose to this blog are:
Whatsapp is very useful to communicate with friends and colleagues. There is a possibility to make groups together with your co-workers. It is very easy to make and delete groups if they are not no more current. It is useful in all kind of projects because every member of the group will get same message at the same time. I like also that you can conjure up your feelings and emotions by using emojis. There is a possibility to send videos and other material you want to share with your group. I understand that this tool is’t the place where you share confidential information. But it is easy and fun way to communicate other things.
Even though many younger people might think Facebook is very old fashioned, I choose it because this is the tool of social media I’ve been using for years and it is the most familiar to me. Facebook is word’s most popular social media and it has 2,5 billion users so you draw large attention if you wish so. It has had critique periodically during all these years, but seems like it will keep it’s popular status among people world wide.
TikTok
I haven’t use TikTok but it seem to be very popular social media especially among children and young people. It could be very cost-effective way to make marketing. TikTok is Chinese application and TikTok videos are quite short. I believe it is very descriptive to our human kind these days- it has to be short and pithy to become interesting.
YouTube
YouTube is popular streaming video service on the internet. You can make your own videos and share it there. You can listen music and watch all kind of instructive videos there. YouTube could be very useful to share all kind of instructive videos and do also marketing. YouTube is owned by Google and it has started 14.2.2005.
LinkedIn is one way to improve career development. It is the larges professional network in the world. You can make your self and your skills more visible to possible employers by making a profile to LinkedIn. It might help to build all kind of co-operation between people. I don’t have profile there yet, maybe I should make one.
The elements of successful digital application
To be successful digital application it has to be simple and easy to use. It should not have too complicated instructions and it should be logical. It is also important that information security has been noticed. Of course there is always every users responsibility to evaluate, what kind of information will be shared. This is one important thing we should discuss with our children. I hope that they talk from this also in schools.
Self evaluation
With this task I heard names of applications that I never had heard before. Many of those were however familiar and I have used many application also. I have to admit that using social media and information technology over all, is not my cup of tea. But this course is one way to get to know more from this field. I have to remind myself again that I have to be more open-minded with all digitalised tools and just try them and use them! It has been nice to build a blog for the first time ever and also exercise my English, which has been unused for way too long!
