In my jobs.

In my current work, I use electronic tools very actively. I work as a mathematical teacher at a vocational school. When planning teaching, I use the Internet. The course planning of teaching divisions is carried out with itsLearing web-based programme. I direct students to search the Internet for information and identify potential hazards such as fake websites. I will advise you on direct borrowing of information, and give advice on what material the student can use, for example, on his or her own blog sites.

I chose the following electronic application programs. YouTube, Todoist, Mobile certificate, Instagram, Blogger.

With Blogger, I could maintain my own personal hobby site, as well as a professional teaching site. The blog site allows students to complete course assignments as self-study. Developing their skills in, for example, mathematics or physics.

Opening and maintaining the site has been made easy. To increase the teacher’s work because each student must be accepted separately as a blog reader.

Data protection functions such as spam filtering work, but the administrator may receive a lot of spam.

Students can use Instagram to develop their own professional skills. Pictures tell more than 1000 words. Students take pictures of different work tasks and activities and make them their own Instagram group website. An easy and inspiring way to present your skills to a large audience. The program is linked as part of the possibility of using video material.

Data protection as a function is a challenge. Image material is easy to misuse.

A mobile certificate (in Finland) is a fairly new way to identify yourself to personal online services. In my work, it is possible to get a Mobile Certificate (TELIA) for free. I have not personally used this service. The security solutions in different services where you can use the mobile certificate are really good. In the future, easy but secure identifications like this will increase.

In Todoist, it is possible to list daily or scheduled tasks. Task completions and reminders are easily visible and remind you of undone tasks. In addition to the Outlook calendar, it is possible to list tasks directly from Outlook, which means that reminders and time monitoring of work tasks are possible from one application.

I don’t think the security is quite right. Todoist collects information about activities and may transmit personal information to external parties.

YouTube video playback service. An excellent way to easily make illustrative teaching material and share it with students on YouTube. Students can watch the recorded material from anywhere. By sharing my channel to, for example, other social media applications such as Facebook or Twitter, I enable comprehensive awareness of my YouTube channel.

Video recording of teaching material is popular in teaching. Students understand better and those with a foreign background also get more out of the task.

Electronic applications have become common at a fast pace. Regarding the reliability of programs and services, it is not possible to say immediately whether they are reliable or not. The responsibility usually rests with the user. Therefore, sensitive material such as personal information, recognizable facial images, addresses, phone numbers may not be published without permission when using the services.

When distributing teaching material, the programs are easy to take over. At the same time, you must check that information is not being transmitted from your personal computer (PC) to the Internet without your knowledge.
