LinkedIn

I use this app almost every day. In LinkedIn I can have conversations with other professionals in my work field or some other fields. There I can also view open jobs and network with other professionals. I have done in my LinkedIn page CV, introduced myself and my professional skills.

WhatsApp

WhatsApp is message app where people can send messages for each other’s. I use these app to keep in touch with my friends, family members and relatives.  I used to use this application at work, but my employer denies using it anymore. WhatsApp is not secure enough. It is unfortunate, because many youngsters use it and they used to contact me there as well.

Outlook

In work I use email a lot, we use Outlook. Also, I have my electronic calendar there like other employees. We can view each other calendars and make there common meetings. Every important information comes usually to email.

Snapchat

Many young people use Snapchat a lot, they are keeping in touch with their friends. I know this App, but haven´t use it. It might be useful for me as school counselor, but I´m not sure. Maybe in future I get it too.

YouTube

In YouTube is so many videos and I think there could be some content to me too. Maybe videos of social skills or friendship skills. When I have enough time, I will search content that suits me as school counselor. 

Instagram

Some of my colleagues have Instagram account for work. In my organization encouraged use Instagram or Facebook and create there work account. That’s how we can spread awareness about the school counselors work and student welfare services.

Miro

I have used this application only once in my studies. It got my attentions and I think I will learn use it. Yet I haven´t get any tasks where I need Miro, but maybe in future there will be. 

Pinterest

Sometimes with students we do some crafting. From Pinterest might found ideas for crafting.

Self-evaluation

In nowadays there are several digital applications. Some of them are in everyday use in my work, but some could be use occasionally. I think it´s easier use tools which are familiar to me. Sometimes learning new technology is frustrating and hard. I work in the well-being area, and we have several new tools to use. It takes lot of effort and time to learn use these tools.  I like to develop myself and my professional, but sometimes too many things to learn same time makes it frustrating. 

Young people are very skilled with digital tools. I work with youngster, so I need to use same tools as them. Still, I think it´s most important is meet face to face, but some contact can be also in online. And divers digital tools make it possible.
