KELA (Social Insurance Institution of Finland)

My family includes me, my husband and our 14-year old son. Social Insurance Institution of Finland (KELA) pays us child benefit. I am an adult student and I am working at the same time, also my husband is working so we don’t get any financial aid from KELA. I have to pay to KELA the student healthcare fee , even if I don’t use it. We all have finnish KELA card´s and we all get finnish health care services. I already have European Health Insurance Card.

OmaKanta

I went to the OmaKanta service by mobile phone. I logged in with my online banking identification credentials. It is easy and quick way to check my own health information. The last time I used the service was when I checked my Corona certificate. During the Korona pandemic, I have been tested for Korona several times. Through the OmaKanta service, I have received the test results conveniently. OmaKanta has made healthcare services easier. The customer receives health information, research data and – results online, which reduces telephone traffic between healthcare workers and citizens. Nowadays, healthcare resources are tight, digital services help healthcare to manage with their work.

Keva

Keva website´s was easy to find and the pension calculator was easy to use. I haven´t visited the site before. If I retire at the age of 67, I will receive a pension about 1700€ before taxes and if I retire at the age 69 I will get a pension about 2000€ before taxes. It is not so much and I dont no what retirement age is when I´m getting that age. I think that 67 year old nurse is quite old.

Webshop

I needed a new cell phone and wanted check phone prices from webshops. I visited on eBay, I have never bought anything from a eBay before. I think that eBay is messy site and prices were in dollars not in euros. It`s not so reliable and I dont`t want to buy anything from there. After eBay I visited Amazon, same thing there, price were in dollars. I don`t know why, but I just don`t get reliable feeling, just wondering what real prices would be shipping costs, taxes and everything in dollars?

Trivago I have used before, booked accomodations few times. You can see prices and reservation conditions easily and all other information is available.

I dont use many webshops. If I use, I choose  Zalando or Sportamore and buy some sport clothes or clothes to my son. I know that online shopping is easy way to buy, but I rather go to shops where is fitting room and i see whether the clothes is suitable in traditional way.

When our family goes to travel we use book our flights and hotels directly from  service provider. Airbnb we have used and have only good experiences. Everything has gone well in domestic trips aswell trips abroad. We have traveled to Croatia three times and booked a villa from the same owner in different places. Everything has gone well and we have also recommended this owner to our friends.

Terveysportti

I choosed Terveysportti. I use it in my work allmost every day. I can find current care recommendation to various diseases from that page. Duodecim pharmacy database is most commonly used as well. I can find information quickly and information is reliable. Recently I have used current care recommendation to palliative care recommendation most. It facilitates daily work and i can get information.

Digitalisation to all people?

Social- and health services digitalisation has evolved. Still not everyone have computer in use or they can`t work with the computer. Or tehy dont have online banking credentials what they need in OmaKanta. This is problem when people´s need to check their health information. In healthcare have to to be taken into account that everyone don`t have digitalisation tools and provide traditional option. My most recent experience with digital transactions was when we were applying for passports for the whole family. The digital pre-service was easy, after that we just went to give our bio-identifier at the police station. Those who do not have the prerequisites for digital transactions can traditionally handle the passport application process at a police station.

All who use digital services must be aware of cyper threats. All peoples have to know how to use internet and e-mail safely.

Self-assesment

KELA, KEVA and Kanta services were familiar and I have been using those services before as well. Webshops I know well. Many services can be found digitally and it makes our lives easier, but there must also be an alternatives to digitalisation. In the assignment, I learned to use a variety of digital platforms to handle everyday issues.
