I work in a private company in the social sector, working on family rehabilitation. We use Instagram and Facebook for marketing our work, among others. We also tell about our work in more detail on these social media platforms and market the company’s services.
At work, I use WhatsApp a lot to communicate with clients. As a rule, communication between the work group also takes place via the WhatsApp application.
In the work community, we also use Teamis and Outlook e-mail to communicate with clients and colleagues at work. OneDrive is used to store files.
We make travel invoices and expense invoices using the M2 service.
In our work, Diarium is for recording customer work and Kanta, where the recording is taken to the customer to see and read.
My new social media tools:
Blogger could be used even more deeply for the transparency of the work and for marketing to customers and contact agencies. With the help of a blog, you could tell in more detail and more permanently about the company's various services, as well as bring to light even small details about, for example, the work of occupational therapists or family rehabilitation. The posts could be read longer and pictures could be added in addition to the text. With the written text, you could get "fatness" around the pictures.
Getting to know LinkedIn started when I created an account for myself there, because the page is really new and I haven't been able to understand what it contains before. With a quick look, the application looks just like Facebook, a wall where things and links are shared. On LinkedIn, apparently, job search is also a big part of the concept, as well as marketing oneself in the job search market. This platform could be used to create a professional network.
Pinterest is clearly an idea bank for inspiration and ideas. There is material and ideas from one topic to another. There are ready-made materials, instructions for making it yourself, or ideas for interior design, hairstyles and style renovations. Pinterest could be used to share ideas and also as a source of inspiration for your own work. What exercises or functional forms of everyday support could be devised with the clients to meet the needs of families.
Todoist is marketed as a work tool for more than 42 million people and teams. The application helps to organize work and leisure tasks in the memory and enables work communities to create checklists, among other things. I could use the application in my work specifically for making to-do lists, short notes, and writing down the central themes of meetings. There are a lot of things to remember at work, figure out thing x, call the customer, make an appointment with the teacher...The application was selected because it is completely new to me, but I will definitely take it to the test to support my work.
Mobiilivarmenna.fi I chose this application precisely because in my own work there is a recommendation to use this, but I haven't done it yet. Now is a good time to get to know it a little more closely. In my work, this will be used for electronic signatures and identification in the form portal. In the form portal, we send rehabilitation contracts to customers to be signed, this way we avoid extra paper. After getting to know the application for the first time, it seems really practical and easy to take part in the work. Next, this must be downloaded to the work phone.
The positives and negatives of using social media?
The use of social media in working life is very common these days. Social media brings people closer to the workplace and opens up the meaning, importance and everyday life of several different jobs with the help of media.
Using social media as part of work makes sense in my opinion from today's development point of view. Why not take advantage of a platform where you can reach many people at once. After all, in a certain way it is also ecological marketing and very easy when you control the field.
Negative aspects of using social media in the workplace are rarely brought up. Today, the bullying on social media towards influencers and social media people, those who do their work only on social media, is brought out more and made public. However, over generations, the idea of real work is reflected in people's thoughts in the world and in how we value others and what expectations we socially set for other people. I also think the ease of contacting other people is both positive and negative. It is easy to approach and connect with other people, the services come to us and we no longer have to go to the services.
How to succeed in using social media? A question that has no answer. I think everyone uses platforms in their own way, you have to stand out from the crowd, be personal and stand out. However, you must not be too visible and audible so that you do not take up the space of others. How to find the right target groups and how to know where to reach them? Utilizing social media requires learning and finding out about things. Staying on top of the wave and knowing where people are and how they age on different platforms, and how to reach them who are not in the apps.
Self-Assessment: This assignment opened up many new applications for working life. I'm going to test them and get to know them more deeply with interest. The task was interesting and nice to do, to delve into today's topic and touch the surface area. However, the world changes and the jobs in the workplace also change, we people have to change with it and find our own applications that support our own work.
