KELA
I haven’t used Kela’s services for years. When I graduated as a practical nurse in 2010, I was unemployed for a while. At that time, I was a customer of Kela as a job seeker. Over the years, Kela has been involved in student loan compensation and, after I fell ill with the coronavirus, in matters related to infectious disease allowance. I do not own a European Health Insurance Card.
OMAKANTA
You log in to OmaKanta on your computer or phone in a web browser. Online banking IDs or a mobile certificate are used as identification. When you log in with your online banking credentials, you will have your own information section where you can see, for example, valid prescriptions, blood test results or referrals.
KEVA
According to Keva’s pension calculator, my lowest retirement age is 67 years 10 months. In this case, my pension would be estimated at 2 459e/month. As another option, the calculator shows the retirement age as 70 years. In this case, the estimated amount of my premedication would be 2 845e/month.
DIGITAL STORES
I chose the Apple iPhone 13 128GB phone for comparison. Apple products are available for sale in many different digital stores. Here I am comparing the prices of Verkkokauppa.com, Elisa, and Telia stores with your local Gigantti store.
In e.com, the phone in question is worth 769,99e. In Elisa Shopit, the price of the equivalent is exactly 769e, as in the Telia store. The online store offers financing, which includes interest. Elisa and Telia offer financing without interest.
In the gigant store, the price of the Apple iPhone 13 128gt phone is clearly higher, 879e. Gigantti also offers interest-bearing financing for the phone. Thus, the phone offered by the local Gigant is clearly higher in price than in the digital stores under review. This would tempt you to use digital stores.
KEJO
Professionals in emergency care units record patient data electronically using the KEJO system. KEJO is a common field system for safety authorities that is used by all emergency care operators. Patient data is recorded in KEJO with nationally uniform data structures. When the generated emergency care report is stored from KEJO in the Patient Data Repository, the data is available to all healthcare operators using the archive.
At first, I personally found the use of KEJO challenging. The system had its own problems, as is the case with all new activities at the beginning. In the past, tasks were recorded on paper. With KEJO, at first it seemed that the attention is more on the computer than on the patient. Once you have learned how to use KEJO properly, this has been rectified. The patient data recorded on the computer is available for the customer to see in the My Kanta service.
DIGITALIZATION AND DIGITAL GAP
Today, almost everything is in digital form, and future innovations will be so too. The new generation is growing up in the digital environment and are thus “up to date”. However, the older population may not be able to cope with the development, which can bring problems to their everyday survival. As society becomes digitalised, the population should go along with digitalisation. In the future, basic services may be inaccessible to those alienated from digital colds. For this reason, it would be important for the older population to also be kept informed and taught how to use digital services. One scenario could be the hermitage of the person remaining in the digital divide.
DIGITAL COMPETENCE TEST
SELF REFLECTION
It was very interesting to consider the impact of digitalization on people’s lives and futures. Another thought-provoking thing was keva’s pension calculator. I wonder in my mind if I will be in working order anymore when I reach retirement age. On the other hand, the size of the pension was also surprising. Overall, a very interesting look at the digital world.
