ePLATFORMS AND SOCIAL MEDIA

I use social media in my work every day. Mostly I use Instagram and Facebook. My workplace’s homepage is on Yrityspalvelujärjestelmä-e-platform, which I also use weekly. With the help of social media, the goal is to reach as many target groups as possible, to inform them about various services and events, and to involve users in developing and evaluating activities. One important goal is to make it easier to get involved in the activity.

In my spare time I use Spotify, Facebook, SnapChat and Instagram. Mostly I use Instagram, but I would like to reduce my use of social media. I feel that they have a lot of bad effects on me. I would hope to find new ways to reach even those users who don’t want to be on social media.

I think the good aspects of social media are interactivity, access to information, community and inspiration. The downsides are bullying, comparison, bad ergonomics and often reduced movement. I believe that the heavy use of social media and digital devices causes many kinds of mental anxiety and easily causes addiction.

I had to choose a five new tools which I could use to in my daily work. I chose those tools:

TikTok

I believe that young people don’t use Instagram or Facebook much anymore. Maybe we should gradually start using tiktok, through which we could also reach future customers. We could perhaps make some short videos related to children’s learning, or for example, film funny moments from everyday life in the meeting place.

ChatGPT

I have long wanted to use artificial intelligence as a design aid. Using it would require me to practice, which I haven’t really found time for. Perhaps I could start to easy things. I could use it to plan activities for clubs.

Jodel

Jodel is a platform where you can easily connect with local people. Through this, you could perhaps inform local people about the events and strengthen the experience of participation.

Vimeo

I shoot small videos and share a lot of pictures via Instagram in my work. Vimeo could be an easy platform to learn how to make better videos.

Todoist

I love to do-lists! I make many lists every day, so why wouldn’t this platform be a suitable tool for me. It would be inspirating and fun.
