Familiarize with the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (KELA). What are the services you use personally and in your family? Get a European health care card.

I have used Kela’s services for rehabilitation, I pay a university student’s health care fee through Kela. I have already acquired a European health care card. You need it when you travel.

Access to your own health care data provided by OmaKanta. How did you access?

I have used OmaKanta services many times. It is easy to see your own health care details from your home. You need to sign in with your bank information.

Look how much pension you will get if you retire at 63 years, or 68 years (Keva).

Varma was the website that showed my pension calculations. I can retire at the age of 67-70. And the amount of the pension is different in those both ages.

Visit e.g. digital shops like eBay, Amazon, Booking.com, Trivago and evaluate the prizes to local shop prices, and information adequacy to the consumer. Is the chosen service reliable?

I regularly use online stores to book trips and make purchases. For example, you can get products from Trivago at a better price than from the hotel’s own website. On the other hand, sometimes trivago is more expensive. I think that through Trivago, some problems can arise, for example, if there is some problems in booking the hotel is unable to help, but the complaint must be made through Trivago.

Find one service/application from your own field. Explain reasons for your choice and your user experiences.

Kilta is an application for nonprofit associations. The application is used as a member register, event management and calendar. The user can edit his/her own information in the application. That way, he/her gets up-to-date information about his membership, membership fees, member benefits and other information the association wants. In my opinion, Kilta is a convenient application and reduces paper work, as it transfers information into digital form. It has made it easier for members to communicate and to keep in touch.

Digitalization and digital gap; what are the risks and challenges for those people, who do not use virtual services?

In my own work, I’ve encountered situations where my clients do not know how to use the equipments. Another situation is that you cannot afford to purchase the equipment. Nowadays, owning a smart device is a basic requirement for doing basic things. Many healthcare services operate online and through them.

Finally, write three ‘pages’ about your thoughts and experiences into your blog. Remember to write a brief self-reflection, too. What did you learn from these assignments?

I think I am an experienced user of these websites. I regularly look for information in my work for myself and clients. The means of identification are familiar. Today, information is easily available on websites and through various applications. Different organizations have chat services on their websites, where you can ask for more information if necessary.

I find that I get frustrated with various websites and apps because they require registration. There are many different passwords, many different applications and many different websites. I hope that the suomi.fi service would develop and that it would be possible to handle matters through that site.

The tasks in this section were already very familiar to me through my personal life and I need these skills in my work almost every day.

    Hello Teri,
I can agree with a lot of the things you are dealing with. You have highlighted them very succinctly and clearly in your writing. It is very clear that for many students, these topics related to study assignments are already familiar. The prices and terms of use of online stores can indeed be compared and be careful with them to get what you want. That perspective that not all citizens can afford to buy and maintain a smart device is a very important consideration when planning a digital future.
