DIGI CITIZEN

Liisa Klemola

You are living in the middle of change both in working life and at home. As a ‘digi citizen’ you generally have extensive skills, knowledge, and access of using the Internet via computers, mobile phones, and web-ready devices to interact with both other persons and  private and public organization. Digital citizenship is described through nine themes: Digital Access: full electronic participation in society; Digital Commerce: electronic buying and selling of goods; Digital Communication:  electronic exchange of information and interactive communication; Digital Literacy: process of teaching and learning about technology and the use of technology; Digital Etiquette: electronic standards of conduct or procedure (Netiquette); Digital Rights & Responsibilities: those freedoms extended to everyone in a digital world; Digital Health & Wellness: physical and psychological well-being in a digital technology world; Digital Security (self-protection): electronic precautions to guarantee safety.
