DIGI CITIZEN

How I interact with services in personally and business wise? I absolutely do everything online. I almost refuse to go on the spot. Okay, I can still make phone calls unlike gen-z but going in like to Kela, nope.

KELA, the finnish social security institution, has been a big part of my life many times. Every time I have studied it has helped me with benefits like student aid and housing support, or with maternity or parental leave and child benefits.

Omakanta is a good website, but I rather use apps like Maisa. In both you can access with your online banking credentials. These kinds of services are very good and helps you to keep on track on your medical history and state.

I checked my pension accumulation from Ilmarinen’s online service. It offers clear insight on estimates for different retirement ages and accumulations. I don’t rely on my retirement solely to government base supports. I don’t want to share any specific details on this matter.

I already have European health care card.

ONLINE SHOP: AMAZON

Online shopping is a must when you live in your peak years. It saves so much time and usually also money when you can surf the online shops and find the best price. I only go to the stores if I want to assistance or alone time. I also like the easiness of online shopping. All the online stores I use frequently I can find my items fast and get fast checkout and I can rely on their promises. Also, the online shops I most commonly use has app that I prefer to use and all of them are customer friendly. Easy to use is one my condition when I use a new online service for me.  If I think about online shops like Amazon, I think the prices can be very low compared to locals because the wide network and supply chain. And I think it is attractive that you can buy almost anything from there. You don’t have to use variety of different online shops. But I think when buying a shops like amazon you also need to take consideration about the shipping fees, returning fees, warranty issues and most likely taxes. So, in some cases it might be easier and cheaper to buy local.

VAINU.IO

Vainu is a B2B company who collects data and integrates that to our CRM. I use this at my work almost daily basis. Well, not use but let that make the work for me. It allows me to have all the information I need to make plans or execute effective sales with my customers.

DIGITALIZATION AND DIGITAL GAP

I think, digital gap, is necessary evil in digitalization. Of course, there is a huge risk to misunderstandings and abuse for those you aren’t used to digital services and that ain’t good.  Also I would imagine that within next 10 years also the government base services will move to online only as well.  In any revolutions there has been a group of people who will be lost in the chaos, but hopefully that will change in the future. Maybe someone will invented some AI or deep learning and neural networks based innovation that will assist this group in the future.

Most common challenges are the lack of access on online platforms and limited market access, privacy and security problems and misunderstandings and social or economic inequality like finding or maintaining a job if the digital comprehend and lack of digital skills.

DIGITAL COMPETENCE TEST

SELF-EVALUATION

Topic was very interesting. Didn’t learn so much of a new things, but it was still good to remember the stuff. I have grown with the digital change so I am familiar to digital services. It would be weird to not use digital services or to copy or print something. It is also weird to have physical money, that I usually don’t have but with kids it’s easier to teach about money with the physical one.

  1. Hi!
Really enjoyed reading your blog. I agree with you in many aspects, especially with the matter of the challenges in the lack of access to the online platforms and the security and privacy problem issues.

I am also a very avid user of different online and digital services and do in fact prefer them to analog services. I think that we are in the year 2023, and the world should move from the analog to digital, but of course wee need to be aware of the possible pitfalls as well, and take the necessary steps to solve them.

I do think that we can do this successfully. 😊
