I personally use a lot of domestic online stores. I’m a lazy shopper, so it’s great for me to get to know the products at home on the corner of the couch. Of course, I have noticed that the threshold for shopping has been lowered. In the stone foot shop, I think more closely about what I am buying. I have used some foreign online stores. However, I think more closely about what and how expensive I buy them. I always shop with a credit card. In addition, I always research what others have said about the store. I also occasionally use e.g. Citymarket’s online store and I order food pre-collected. This is really handy especially if there is a known congestion, e.g. Christmas. I only have good experiences with this.

Through this assignment, I became more familiar with Amazon as well as eBay. I haven’t used these before, but I’ve visited the site sometimes. Amazon’s operations initially seemed complicated. Apparently, the seller may be Amazon itself or another company that sells through Amazon and uses their inventory. The seller may also be a completely separate company that uses Amazon only for “e-commerce.” The sales announcement should show which of these options is the seller. This in itself does not matter in the shopping experience, it works the same for everyone. Different countries have their own Amazon stores, but Finland has not yet got its own, so you can shop in other countries. In this case, care must be taken to ensure that they deliver to Finland. The amount of selection is something quite incomprehensible, but I don’t know if I need such a large selection. When the selection is large, it also becomes difficult to compare products.

Ebay seems to be as confusing and equally versatile a marketplace as amazon. On Ebay, the seller can be a company or an individual. When dealing with both stores, it must be remembered that if the products come from outside the EU, customs duties must be paid to Finland. It is therefore a good idea to always check the seller’s domicile. Getting to know the sites didn’t get me very excited about them. I don’t think I’ll be ordering from those online stores, at least in the near future, because I find it easier to get my product. In addition, I would like to support Finnish companies first and foremost. It would seem that if you can see the effort, you can buy products from these stores cheaper than in Finland. I would also see that operators are generally reliable because they would not otherwise have millions and millions of users.

I also got to know Etsy. I have long wanted to go into more detail and now there was a good reason. Etsy sells unique and creative products and handicrafts. You may also find vintage treasures on the site. Finnish local artisans can also be found in the Etsy.
