The Social Insurance Institution of Finland (KELA) has helped me and my family in many different situations. When I was younger and studying with financial aid. I didn’t get into working life right away, so Kela paid me general housing allowance. I also have three daughters, so I have received maternity, childcare allowance, and child benefit from the Social Insurance Institution of Finland. Thanks to Kela, my youngest daughter got into the adaptation training course, so she has ADHD. This course helped my daughter and my entire family understand the disease and the ways to live with it. Because of ADHD, my daughter also gets disability allowance for persons under 16 years. I also feel that a very important benefit is Reimbursements for medicine expenses because both me and my daughter use daily prescription medications.

Omakanta is in almost weekly use and logging in to the service is easy and quick. The authentication is also very fast because I use my mobile phone and the OP- mobile service and mobile key in it.  The mobile key is safe to use because it can only be used on the device I have enabled.

I was unable to view the pension extract from Keva’s website because pension matters are handled by another pension provider. So, I looked it from Varma´s site. My lowest retirement age is 66 years and 9 months, if I wanted to get a full pension I would have to work until the age of 70 years. Now, the idea that I would still be working at the age of 70 seems far away. Maybe I need to start taking better care of my own health so that I can keep my work ability up to that point.
