The power of thought and freedom of choice helps to achieve peace of mind. A person’s overall well-being is built from small pieces and small choices. Every good choice in life helps you feel good. These choices consist of choices on the plate, adequate sleep, the power of thought, the choice to move and to rest sufficiently. Some things can come out of the blue without the influence of one’s own actions, but so many things are the result of one’s own actions and thinking.

The power of thought is greater than we often think. How we think about ourselves is important. Talk to yourself gently and appreciatively.  Gratitude is the gift of seeing the beauty and diversity of life. I highly recommend trying what mindful gratitude practice can accomplish.

Mindfulness exercises increase our ability to concentrate and observe. Thoughts have a huge power over how we feel and experience, and how we see ourselves. Thought distortions can be things like I can’t cope with the day ahead. You can change your perspective to “I’ll do my best today and that’s enough” (Mielenterveystalo.fi 2024)

Practicing gratitude helps a troubled mind find peace. It is good to learn a way that works for you to find inner balance. Walking and doing things outside is a good way to calm the mind. Breathing exercises can help you relax. Living in the present moment grounds you in the present moment. Gratitude directs thoughts to successes. Gratitude helps self-esteem and social relationships. The mindset can become much more positive when gratitude comes into your life (Mielenterveystalo.fi 2024).

I speak from my own experience and encourage you to make good choices. Remember, you can always influence the kind of life you live. You can nurture the good things that give your life strength and energy. Welcome with open arms the people who are your people.
