WEEK 4

The fourth week was more educating as i moved into an advance role at the internship place and working more independently. During the fourth week, I learnt how to assess patient, symptoms for residents with pain, patients medications, vital signs, and getting familiar with documentation. Basically, the fourth week was mainly on the reflection of mid evaluation, try to work on my goals and the areas my mentor suggested i need to improve on.

In this week, I was assigned to two residents for the fourth and fifth week, it was believed that focusing on these patients would give a clearer knowledge and make my practice more realistic. I took care of these patients independently and provide all the necessary care to them. Moreover, i was privilege to see residents in their end of life with hospice care, luckily i managed to practice the ABCDE and vital signs often through these patients.

However, I started working closely with my mentor to learn how to asses patients, make care plan and planning processes. Similarly, I watched my mentor on how to make documentation for patients on a daily basis, she explained in details and how i can do it independently. Therefore, i tried to do some documentation with the help of my mentors and she suggested that I practice more often with Docca to get a clearer knowledge about documentation. Also, it was a nice experience to see how to insert cannula tube inside the vein for patients. I usually give pain medicine to patients through cannula tube on throughout this week.
